What is the difference in these 2 machines besides the price ('17 is 19,500 and the '16 is 20,300)

Piggyback resi in the rear shocks, differences in springs. Some have an updated timing chain tensioner. Probably things I'm forgetting. There's a big thread and a video detailing the differences in here if you search

Reservoir on the rear shock instead of cage, voltage regulator behind grill, no more front a arm grease zerks, acc position on ignition, no front tender spring, better cam chain tensioner, different part number front diff (supposedly engages faster than ever) m12 rear radius arm bolts instead of m10, beefier radius arms, different wheels, different clutch weights. T rail seat belt dampener/neck saver. I'm sure I'm missing something. These are what I've noticed looking over my 17, and figured out the rear radius arms/bolts when I went to install the rear bumper. Had to drill the holes on the bumper bigger.

My '17 has the reservoir's on the cage. Anybody know why they're different? Mine is the Ridecommand model.

If your going to upgrade why not go with aftermarket double chain . That's what my buddy just did on his 15.

Re: Difference in a '16 xp 1000 and a '17 xp 1000

I meant replacing my 14 machine with a new 17. With rebates currently in place I might consider it if there were enough changes.

Re: Difference in a '16 xp 1000 and a '17 xp 1000

From what I have read, the Gold LE Rock Crawler is the only additional model that has the wider High Lifter reverse chain. I have in writing from Polaris and my dealer that the Gold LE has the heavy duty chain. They were initially advertised to have a reverse gear. I verified that they only have the heavy duty reverse chain and not the reverse gear before I bought mine.
