I've got a full windshield on the front of my XP1000 and am doin research to see the best and also cheapest solution to the dust vortex problem. Can I get by with the rear mesh, or do I need to invest in a full poly back panel??
Alright. Thanks man. Got a trip in two weeks and gotta get something. I'm leanin on a full back clear panel.
But after droppin so much cash on the windshield I'm needin to go cheap on the back..... budget. Haha
How important is it to ensure the back is hard coat MR 10 like the front??
Any suggestions on panels with links??
I am on my third RZR and I think the best for dust is naked from factory. I have never seen anything work. The more you put on the more dust you have. This goes for the roof,windshield, doors, rear window(mesh or Solid). The only thing that helps is a rain the night before or a water truck out front.
Haha. Yeah no kiddin. Ridin back in a pack on a gravel road at speeds... well..... in advisable..... I put a half shield up. It kept me from eating it and no more rocks to the forehead. Ha.
Do I gotta have somethin especially in this colder weather. Just looking for the cheapest way to go to get the most dust kept out with a full windshield....
The plan is to build my own complete enclosure for it similair to biminy tops and enclosures I've sewed up for boats. (A hobby). It will be complete with zippered roll back clear side windows and a zippered remove able back window and zippered roll up back panel
I've done one already for a ranger and it turned out quite nice. Only at about 200 dollars cost in materials I'm way ahead of the game with full can enclosures.
My only resignation is drilling the tiny holes in the roll bars for snap buttons.
I will explore other ways to fasten but so far snaps prove best and tightest.
One finished I'll add pictures and if anybody is interested and I get into it I'll make more....
What I found out is I like the Tusk rear flexible one kind of like a jeep. Much easier to install than the plastic ones and cheaper too
I have had the mesh on my 08 RZR, Plastic rear windshield on the 09 S and I like the Tusk on my 11 XP much better
mines as in signature for a 570. Instructions poor, but the durn thing is dummy proof b/c it just velcro tabs into place. Had it for over 1 1/2 yr no wear marks or tears. Might want to uninstall when trailering - no biggie. i've left mine on several times under 100 miles no ill effects. it will keep the cab vortex swirling in from the rear to a minimum. i don't leave it mounted all the time, only when i think I'm riding where it will be helpful. For the price alone, i'd buy it again, but it'll be awhile as i don't have upgrade fever;
lots of make your own threads(full glass & M10 lexan)(a 36x72 sheet can be bought a home depot for $100) thru out the forum;
Flip down windshield from EMP and TUSK rear window installed. Couldn't be happier. No vibration, dust was cut down 95%, made the whole overall ride quieter and more pleasant, no exhaust smell, and my stereo got about ten times louder and more clear. Should have done this a long time ago!!!
