I had the carbon fiber gates in my 900 and it held up to lots of abuse. I bought 2 because they were so cheap and my stock belt only lasted 100 miles. I still have the spare and looks like it will fit my 1k!
I bought a spare Polaris belt for our 1000 and it really hurt my feelings and my wallet. I buy my stuff at 10% over cost +9% sales tax and I think the total on the belt was 192.00. I was guessing somewhere between 125.00-150.00. I figured the belt would be worth 500.00 if I was 20 miles from the truck and the original belt broke, so I bought it.
I'm curious to see what pricing is on the Gates belts.
I paid $95.00 for 2 at my buddy's cost. According to a add on ebay they are the same as the 900. I'm estimating 1 belt is about 25% cost of a oem. I have no doubt that they are not as good or better than stock.
I put my extra Polaris OEM XP900 belt on my new 1000 this last trip out. Fit like a glove and worked fine. They are about $179.00 here OTD. No sales whacks here.
been running the carbon fiber on my xp 900 for quiet awhile no problems at all,79.00 bucks each to my door cause I bought 2.first I had no clutch problems before installing Dalton clutch kit,it help,s to not have aproblem,the only thing I did was smoked a belt o e m belt so I tried the carbon fiber worked just fine,todd sells them,clutch kit worked fine also;
I'm excited the Gates belt is a lot cheaper than OEM, but I haven't had a reason to swap belts to try one out. I have 2200 miles and counting with my factory belt! I keep my XP in low from 0-20MPH and switch to high when driving 20+MPH no exceptions.
Thanks Frank, I just did 35miles of belt breakin on this newer version. Seems to be working great. Turn around time on the warranteed belt was 3.5 weeks.

I just bought a spare belt fdor my 1K from my NAPA store. The NAPA number is 21G4140 as is the gates number on the belt. I compared the belt to the stock belt and the outside ribs are a little different. Is this Gates belt the correct replacement for the 1H?
Sooo I have a Gates carbon belt that I got about 4 months ago.. Am I understanding correctly that there is a NEW carbon belt? I am in the midst of a turbo kit install and thought I would just find out if I need to upgrade the belt?? Anyone have any guidance on that.... You hearing me Frankopcorn:
Definitely interested in picking one of these up as soon as they become available. Seems to be a better belt and cheaper than the dealership Polaris belt?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the present offering of the Gates C12 belt, we sell a lot of them. Gates is just simply trying to stay ahead of the curve and it may be months before the new one is available.
