Re: XP 1000 vs Maverick - Power looks close?

sweet video!!!! looks like the xp1000 had i little more bottom end it pulled the maverick out of the corners but the maverick had a little higher top end and cornered better

Re: XP 1000 vs Maverick - Power looks close?

There's not much aftermarket in engine for the Maverick. The Maverick guys like the QSC/STM clutch set up which is probably all the Mav needs to run with 1000. The Maverick driver was more aggressive than the 1000 driver. Maybe the 1000 driver was just thinking about the 22k they dropped on the unit instead of racing.

Re: XP 1000 vs Maverick - Power looks close?

I seen talk of this race on another forum, I think it was a polaris guy running one of the r&d units. The long strait shows the maverick starting to run the xp down at the end, though he never gets all the way there. I dought both machines are bone stock so who knows one way or the other. I looked at and went sit in a mav before putting money down on a xp. My choice was made by the fact the the xp has room for massive tires, and since it has 29s stock it should be better geared to pull them. Ill let you sand dunes guys worry about who's faster on the straights lol.

Re: XP 1000 vs Maverick - Power looks close?

I see a few attempts by the Mav to pass the XP and it didn't happen. Looked like a good clean race between the 2 units and a pretty good idea of whats going on. Now I would like to see the opposite, the Mav in the lead and the XP trying to pass.

I have no reason to say a Maverick is junk, it's just not my thing and my boss owns 2 Dodge dealerships, a Chevy dealership, and a Polaris dealership and therefore it's real easy and convenient for me to own a Polaris! (and I love them). LOL

Re: XP 1000 vs Maverick - Power looks close?

On the you tube comments it states the maverick got around the XP in this 4 hour endurance race, but that the mav ends up breaking a belt and a axle and the xp finished the race. I would have thought the 5 minutes of video would have been of him getting around the XP, not following. Good to hear the XP took 4 hours of beating and hung in there. The mav driver was alot more aggressive, put RJ Anderson behind the wheel of that stock XP and see how the Mav fairs

I agree it looks like a difference in driving but the Maverick in this video at least ain't no slouch. He's driving like he has a point to make. Great video. I'm sure there are going to be lots of video showing the competition going both ways between these two and the AC kitty. Keep em coming.

Maybe the new quick lock fastening system will need some improvements..

Doesn't surprise me the Mav. broke the way he drives. Anything would break driving that aggressive for 4 hrs
