MTX overhead audio

I was thinking im going to add the mtx overhead audio system to my 1000 when i can pick it up. Not going to add sub but will be purchasing the overhead and the two speaker add on. My question is will this system be better than the ssv works overhead system? just wondering if i should wait for aftermarket or go ahead with this one? Thanks for any and all help.

Re: MTX overhead audio

that MTX set up looked kind of plain to me

the video I think mentioned that the wires ran up through the cage

which would be a clean look

wonder if the cage is prewired or if have to do that in the install

Re: MTX overhead audio

i just dont want to waste that kind of cash to be dissapointed with overall sound. Never hearing the mtx system and not finding any video of one either i just dont know if i should wait, but i do want to put the system into my payment. Anyone out there ever even heard a mtx system. Could you give me any feed back?

Re: MTX overhead audio

$1500 for the complete setup is way steep IMO.

It's boxy and plain.

Just wait I'm sure SSV will come up with something. And I'm sure the wires can be routed through the cage for the SSV

Re: MTX overhead audio

Wait until Duner Tunes has their stuff ready. I am first on the list for his new system. They plan to have a cage this month and product 60-90 days after that. Sam at Duner Tunes is a A+++ straight up good guy and he makes killer sounds systems. I had one on my 900XP and it will flat out make your head explode on high volume. And I went the cheap route with my Duner Tunes System. I can't imagine what his JL Audio System sounds like.

You can have the best JL Audio System made for a RZR that will blow that MTX System out of the water for that kind of money. It's a flat sub on the MTX which sucks.

Just wait until the Duner Tunes are available you won't be sorry.

Re: MTX overhead audio

I did the SSV audio system in my XP. It has the 2 front speakers and the sub with an amp. I upgraded to Rockford-Fosgate speakers and that system just kicks butt... Installed it came to about $1,100.00 with a discount I got from the dealer for buying when I bought the XP... I have all good things about Duner Tunes and I am sure those guys are good too... I did have an MTX system in my 2500HD with 2 subs under the rear seat and that system also moved a bunch of air and was clean until some crackhead ripped it off... There is some beauty in a plug and play system due to the ease of installation but I think if you were going to go with a custom cage in the future that would be change a lot of things as far as all the overhead stuff goes....

I proudly use and recommend products and services from these supporting vendors;
SpringBrakeThingy, Fullerton Sand Sports, Pro Armor, Makin Trax, DG Offroad, Benchmark Performance, Packard Performance, Factory UTV, UTV Inc, Wolfsnout

Re: MTX overhead audio

The MTX setup is $1150, that's for the overhead unit and the subwoofer but the big thing is you DONT lose any room. The JL Audio unit is $1900 and you lose your cargo area. I will definitely be checking into the MTX setup. Its worth it from what I see and am reading about it!

Re: MTX overhead audio

Greg, I had your system in my rzr-s and loved it. Do you have a rough estimate of when you will be bringing something to the table. Not getting the new ride till Sept. and i know it will take you guys time to get ur hands on one and think something up, but was just curious. I was the RADIO in the group, so im sure all of my riding group will be curious also. lol.

I would call Sam at Duner Tunes before you drop any money on that MTX system. He knows all the details on the MTX and told me about a dozen reasons why and how he could build a much better sounding and louder system for less money or the same money.

Just saying do your research so you aren't disappointed later. My buddy bought the Polaris Stereo for his 2012 RZR 900 XP and you could barely here it at riding speeds. My old Duner Tunes system would make your ears bleed at riding speed if you weren't wearing a helmet.

I would estimate we are 45-60 days out on the XP1K. As soon as I have more info, I will leak it. Oops I mean share it.

Re: MTX overhead audio

Awesome Greg, I'vs liked the SSV stuff so far. Like the idea of bluetooth and the extra dry compartments the polaris/mtx kit is said to have. Hopefully SSV might incorporate some of those ideas to.

Please make the buttons backlit. That is the only complaint I had with my SSV. Even with the LED light turned on it was hard to see which controls was which.
