It kinda hard to judge power running 14" bighorns in soft sand. It felt good to me for the tire it had on. I'm sure they are running high air pressure to keep them on the wheels also.

I am used to over 200hp with my Apex and I was impressed with the XP-1000... maybe I was just expecting a lot less and they were expecting a lot more...
My buddy who got to drive on Saturday said he did not feel a while lot of difference between his 900 and the 1000 power wise either. What did impress him was the suspension and the steering. Said it was awesome.

I believe that they removed it. So no.

Re: XP 1000 at Dunefest - test drive review on page 6

the one I drove was broke in.... the guy that brought up the back of the pack put me in the back so I could let the other drivers get a ways ahead and really drive it as i caught up... also gave me the ok to shift in and out of 4x4.
the front got light on hard exceleration but the new front end pulls corners amazing.
the suspension is amazing. didnt push corners too bad in 2x, allowed for a great hook up coming out of a hard turn. and sucks up whoops as good or better than my xp with stage 4 elka's.
power from low to mid with 29 inch bighorns at 8psi felt close to my xp with paddles, exhaust, fuel controller, and intake so great implovement. top end was kinda disapointing, it didn't feel like it pulled any harder than my xp.
the stock seats were ok
doors are cool for a stock set up
more room in the cabin for sure
do like the new console with the phone space
all in all if it was in the cards for me I would be all over it!!!!!
deffinately a double thumbs up

WITH AGE COMES A CAGE
2015 xp 4 1000 pro armor harness, roof, windsheild, tribal whips, heretic lights, gmz wheels, stu blasters, black rhino mirrors, & more to come!!

Wonder how those lights compare at night to the 900s LED lights. They look like they suck in all the videos I've seen.

They seem very yellow in all the videos. I'm wondering the same thing

I like your theory.

I haven't driven a XP1k but I understand your observation base off the current information circling the forums. The XP900, Maverick, and Wildcat X are so close in rear wheel HP that a good launch wins the drag race majority of the time. I believe Polaris has two machines competing in the same class mistakenly in the UTV market. The expectations will be held high on the XP1k because it borders the 20k mark whereas it needed to be in the 18.5 range to compete with other brands. I encourage everyone thinking about buying a XP1k to at least tst drive the new Wildcat X and Maverick before buying the XP1k blindly. The XP1k suspension numbers aren't class leading and the power to weight ratio isn't impressive on paper; However, I may eat my own words after driving one. haha

IMHO the Maverick and Wildcat X were no competition for the XP 900
(let alone the xp1000) in the dunes or on the rocks and yes i have driven them all.

Re: XP 1000 at Dunefest - test drive review on page 6

I was about to go with the Mav at one time sure am glad I waited. The Mavs are just having way to many problems. Not saying the xp1000 won't have problems but the Mav is just like to big and bulky for me seems like you sit up really high in the seat. I like the nimbleness of the XP's well on my 900 anyway. Hopefully the 1000 feels the same way. Soon as my dealer gets one I'm headed down to look at it and test drive it and hopefully coming home with one. My brother is getting one also.

Here's a ? If we buy 2 at once shouldn't they nock a little of the price? I mean my dealer already said he would but the amount being nocked of should be a little more in my opinion.

supply vs demand. If he has people lined up to buy them as fast as he can get them he can charge more...
do your best to negotiate, but if you want to pay less you might have to wait until demand goes down.
IMHO
