Factory UTV Skid plate questions?

I have a 2016 High Lifter Rzr, I'm looking into the FUTV 3/8 or 1/2 inch skid plates. Was wondering if anyone ran these with the Polaris low profile rock sliders? Wasn't sure if the 3/8" would squeeze underneath the lip of the rock sliders. I live in Western New York so a lot of the riding is in wet, muddy conditions and every once in a while I like to drop the factory skid and wash under the machine so I would like the new skid plate to be somewhat easily removable. I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

I have the half inch with the sliders works good if there it is all new you will need to drill a bigger hole in the sliders so it wont break the cheap bolts they proved.

Re: Factory UTV Skid plate questions?

I have a 2017 xp 1000 and I just recently installed the Factory UTV 3/8" full skid with the Polaris low profile rock sliders; The skid had to go on first, and then the rock sliders wrapped down around. It is a tight fit, 1/2" skid would never of worked, and the rock sliders will have to come off to drop the skid for cleaning/maintenance, but that is a trade off I accepted for "hull" like armor under my car.

Thanks for the thoughts. I've done some extensive research and a lot of thinking. I'm now leaning towards the trail armor or ricochet plates. I'm thinking the ricochet because they don't require drilling any hole in the frame which just goes against my grain, but that's just my opinion and obviously many people do it and have no problems. Ricochet also has a 3/16" aluminum 1/4" umhw option which I think is cool. The trail armor seems very high quality but quite extensive to install and I like to remove the plate every once in a while to wash. That's why I don't want to tap into the frame because I think the threads would wear out.

Re: Factory UTV Skid plate questions?

I have the low profile sliders and the Super ATV 1/2" UHMW. The sliders had to go on first and the skid went over the bottom of the sliders. If you try to install the sliders after the skid the holes on the side will not line up.

I know what your saying about drilling the holes. I had a hard time thinking it through before I installed mine. My buddy has the ricochet plates and they are a real pain to remove and install for cleaning. The other problem he has is they are getting so bent up to the point when he removes them they don't line up when he goes to put them back on.

Did you attach the skid to the rock sliders? How is the super at plate? Are you happy with it?
