Re: My 4 seat RZR
I see it now! I knew you had shocks. You should take some pictures with 4 people in it so we can really take it it in. Like I said before you did a really nice job with space given.

Re: My 4 seat RZR
How did you mount the Seat? Did you custom fab a mount for it. I am ordering a seat this week and am just wondering! Thanks

Re: My 4 seat RZR
Mine is a +4 kit and it's 61-62" in the rear with the rims and tires I have. As to the rear seat yes the guy that built my cage custom fabed a mount for it. He drilled out and put some stronger bolts in the center. If you look at the bed from under neath he went though the four in the middle that have the metal. He was supposed to mount the seat about 1.5-2" futher back but the way he bent the cage that was as far as he could go. Every inch counts when your trying to put a seat back there.

Re: My 4 seat RZR
Love the ideas you give me. I'd like to attempt the same. Do you think it would be ok to use the lock & ride system. You know build a separate frame, bolt the seats to the frame and anchor it down with lock & ride expansion anchors? Also what kind of helmet does the 2 yr. old wear? I'm trying to get my 2 yr. old out with us instead of staying back at camp with a sitter.

Re: My 4 seat RZR
The lock and ride idea would be nice so it could be removed but no I would not make it so that is securing the kids. Bolt it in for sure don't take any chances. As to a helmet well neither of my kids wear them in the RZR. The weight of a helmet I feel is more likely to injure their necks than the risk of an accident. I'm pretty cautious with the kids in it we just cruise. No high speeds and no big jumps. If I take out my oldest (7yr old) to play a bit she goes with a helmet and or full gear. But most of the time it's just nice to go out as a family.
If you want to run a helmet you might use a hockey helmet with a full plastic face. Or I did look at a really small helmet that was pretty lightweight. But then again I did not buy it. People have different opinions on the helmet issue. I feel safe with the .095 DOM wall cage that surrounds them.

This is a common mistake people make. It takes a lot more than you realize to hurt a child and the weight of a helmet is not going to do it unless you're traveling at very high speeds. Even then, the impact must be very large to result in injuries from a helmet. But if they hit their head on that dom tube. Its over.

Re: My 4 seat RZR
Like I said opinions are like arseholes everyone has one... No DOM tube can come in contact with my children's heads so I am comfortable with going out without a helmet. All the helmets I have looked at have been heavy. As to helmets in general well I played foosball for 12 years and every year I played my neck was a bit swore after the first few practices from the added weight of my helmet. Again do what you feel is safe for YOUR children. I'll worry about mine. If helmets don't create issues why do so many sand rail guys swear they do? Does it have anything to do with your body being immobilized by the 4/5pt and your head moving like a bobble head? I have considered using a helmet and a neck roll/brace on my 2yr old but she does not like even wearing goggles so I don't think she will go for it.

Re: My 4 seat RZR
You said it perfectly:
"my neck was a bit swore after the first few practices"
Your/their muscles develop and after the first few rides, there are no probs. Have you looked at "Fly Racing" gear?
They make some kids helmets that are light but provide great coverage.
Just trying to look out for a fellow gearhead and his fam!

Re: My 4 seat RZR
I on the other hand never wear a helmet when I play foosball.
I can see how your neck would be sore if you play foosball with a helmet on though!
Sorry man, I couldn't resist the ribbin'!

Re: My 4 seat RZR
Keep in mind I was 9 yrs old when I started playing foosball. Played through college at which time I was 275lbs with a neck as big as my GF thigh. The description I was trying to give my thoughts on helmets in general. My 2yr old daughter who is a health little thing has like all 2yr olds a big head and a tiny neck. Maybe 3" wide. Sitting in the rear of the RZR the kids get bucked around a bit even with the LT so my concern is whiplash. I'm not concerned about crashing. This is why I go without. The other issue is on the long cruise she goes to sleep and it's a problem with her head bouncing and hanging down. I have zip tied a donut neck roll to her child seat that seems to help overall. Don't mind the safety patrol but I'm a very conscious father. Didn't mean to jump on you there and don't get the wrong idea if I do find a better solution I would consider it.
