No Power???

I have battery charged to 12+ volts but, no power on the rig . . . Where should I look??? The 75 amp fuse is fine. . . The fuses in the fuse box (at least the ones on the left) look good too.

I have no power but, the battery is good???

I have a stereo system (actually an Amp.) connected to the battery (but, that is a seperate connection. I'll check the fuse on it.)

No other accessories.

Re: No Power???

bad connections or ground... dont just look take apart and clean them all it doesnt take much... get a volt meter and ck youll find it fast that way. also if you have volts up to fuse box the ign switch gets dirty and makes bad connection also ck that too

Re: No Power???

Check your battery terminal connections too. Clean and make them tight, not sort of hand tight.

Re: No Power???

I think they are tight, but I will check again tomoeeow. . .

Oh, I did check the power (with a voltage meter) for the BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH (I think). I didn't have the Brakes Depressed but, there was no power (now I need to check that B4 I go to bed. . . )

Let me check that. But, it does prove I have power downstream of the battery so, my battery connections should be good. . .

Re: No Power???

OK checked everything but, now that I think of it, I was checking against the positive node but, I was checking against the negative connection on the battery. So, I'll have to check the negative connections on the battery tomorrow.

Re: No Power???

If it is a 2010 and newer there is a small fuse box on the lower rear passenger side frame that holds 2 fuses. Check and make sure they are seated. Mine came loose on a ride and I lost all power while I was in the woods.

Mwink Re: No Power???

I'm back from vacation (Disneyland Wha-Who.)

Still have the same issue. . .

Checked The Key per the manual - good.
Checked The Break Pressure Switch also per the manual - good.

What should I check next?

Re: No Power???

When you say that you checked the key...what exactly did you check?

I had an issue with the ignition switch where the wires came loose on the backside....no ignition. Pulled the switch and crimped all the wires and haven't had a problem since.

When checking all the fuses, use an ohm meter, not just a visual check. Sometimes they look good but aren't.

Lastly, fusible links on the + cable from the battery. If you shorted something, a link may have blown.

Good luck, hope you fix it.

Re: No Power???

I'll check the cables to the ignition tomorrow for continuity. I too noticed they did seem like they could be loose.
That is exactly why I post stuff on this forum. . .

Re: No Power???

What voltage should I see on these (unconnected.)

I got 0 on the 1st one and very small voltage on the 2-4 pins.

(Is this right???)

If I wasn't clear before, this is on the 4 wires that are connected to the back of the key. I used my multi-meter when the unit was disconnected from the key.

Doesn't sound right. Mine were loose, so it was easy to fix. If you aren't gettiong 12v at the switch you should chase those wires back to a fuse.

Re: No Power???

i had this SAME exact problem with my 2011 i could be riding and the whole bike would shut off like i disconnected the battery then after a few turns of the key bam it would turn on again. the problem i had with mine was the dielectric grease in the ignition plug(right behind the key) was getting water in it so i cleaned it up redid the grease and bam havent had a problem since.
