i am thinking about getting the extended warranty from the dealer i purchased my rzr from. They said they can do it for 999 for the 5 year. Does anyone know what it does and doesnt cover? would you buy this or no? any information would be greatly appreciated!

From what I heard and I may be wrong but i've been told it's like pulling teeth having Polaris honor their ext warranty. My initial 6 mo ran out 3 months ago and I would never, ever buy an ext warranty for anything again.Did it in the past and either never needed it or got screwed making a claim.I say stay away from them.

I think it is.. I bought the 2yr extended warranty with mine and I just used it. I had a broke sway bar that also tore the boot off the cv worn front a-arm bushings worn rear hub bushings and a cv joint that was about to blow. All was fixed and replaced under the extended warranty.
From what I read on here alot depends on the shop but I have no complaints with mine, Ultimate Toys motorsports in Knox TN.

Asolutely worth it. Allthough I like the RZR, it is still a Polaris and its reliabiilty for prolonged usage is questioned allmost daily on this forum. So to give my positioned wings my RZR's examples are: Tailights didn't work when I bought it, the entire wiring harness had to be replaced after a 14 months, and now the top end is being rebuilt.

Polaris does take its time on giving the dealer the go ahead to fix my problems under warranty, but it is better than having to pay for these expensive repairs.

My 6 month warrnaty just ran out on the 30th of october. I thought long and hard about getting the extended but in the end I dont trust my local dealership any further than I can throw em. I can fix quite a bit with a grand or more. Ill take my chances

I just bought the extended warranty with my 2012 s le. They wanted $1000 for just a 3 year. I told him there was no way I was paying that much. The only reason I knew not to pay that much was the guys on here sharing their warranty purchasing info (THANKS GUYS IT SAVED ME A FEW HUNDRED). In the end I got the 3 year warranty for $400. That just shows how much room there is to play with when it comes to the price of these warranties. He says that is what he had to pay for the warranty, but who knows. It might have made a difference because I was buying a new machine, but once again, who knows. I hope this helps ya a lil.

that pricing info is good to know. my buddy bought his 2011 rzr s about 3 months ago and they hit him for $1000 for a 5 year.

i think 3year is plenty and for 400 id say thats deff worth it. i'll be picking my 12 s LE up next week. we agreed to discuss the waranty when i get there to sign the final papers. so it looks like i'll have a lil neg to do.

I am looking to get a Polaris with an extended warranty and just read through the Polaris extended warranty fine print and found this:

Coverage under this extended warranty applies only to a Breakdown

A Breakdown is defined as the "failure of a Covered Part to perform the function for which it was designed under normal service and usage of the vehicle due solely to a defect in materials or workmanship as originally manufactured and not due to wear and tear."

Sounds like Polaris is charging a thousand bucks for a useless warranty. Anyone having problems getting their Polaris repaired for normal wear and tear because the warranty doesn't cover it?
