Re: Sand/Dirt in the airbox?

bite the bullet. save your 100 bucks and get the whole thing as mentioned above, price out a motor rebuild if ya dont. i have a 09 s and had a 10 s theres is only one fix.the utv inc canister. it may sound a little harsh but you dont mess around with testing on somthin like that. read the forums , the factory s air boxes suck.(no pun intended)

there were a few that didnt get dirt in. just be sure, i thought i was untill i put a clean sock on a long extension and swabbed the butterly in the throttle body and it came out with dirt on it. hard to see in that far, i recomend you try that, if it comes out clean , you are good to go.

Re: Sand/Dirt in the airbox?

I built an intake that comes up thought the bed and an open filter sitting behind the diver seat. So what ever I am getting for air, so is the motor. I think it cost me about $50 or so the filter being the most.

Re: Sand/Dirt in the airbox?

I'm in the same boat as RZRSBIGDAVE. I run a K&N filter and a outwear and also put a women's knee high stocking on the intake tube between the seats under the bed and have had no issue's. All butterflies will get dirty look at your personal car or truck they all get dirty. Now like people have said if its sand, dirt etc. yes then theres a problem.

Re: Sand/Dirt in the airbox?

this is not rocket science. dirt = disaster, there should be NONE.i can look at my truck , car or utv, if there is dirt past the air filter there is a problem. you are just plain foolin yourself otherwise.that is why there is a huge what air filter is better debate.
