Greasing wheel bearings

I just replaced my wheel bearings on all 4 corners and was wondering if it was a GOOD idea to risk messing with the seals or should i leave well enough alone?

If i should add grease how should i go about the seal i really dont want to mess them up.Any tips or tricks to making these bearings last ?This is the second time ive done them and i didnt mess with adding grease and they didnt last long but i also play in mud and sand and water alot so i attributed that to their early demise. That and theres no way to add grease to the wheel bearings which seems silly to me.

Not sure if you can get one for the 800 but I use this on my 900s. No need to take apart the seals

Re: Greasing wheel bearings

I have a 2 Guys Hobby and a Holy Tools greaser, the Holy Tools is easier since you do not have to remove the bearing carrier as it slips around the axle. Both grease equally well the Holy Tools is just faster.

Greasing wheel bearings

Holy Tools for the win in my book. I was skeptical until I bought one and did mine. The water that came out shows how under greased these things can be.

mine fits on the 900 s and xp1000
in fact i just greased the only 10 miles on my xp and they still took 12 to 15 pumps before greased showed on each
a great investment:

Re: Greasing wheel bearings

That's one way to look at it. Another way is oem bearings are around 50$ a piece. So you will save money depending on where you ride. Where I live it's mud and water here in ky. Usually around 6-700 miles my bearings have play. I'm at 1100 still with no play. So basicly I've saved my self a round of new bearings. Already paid for itself . Plus my friends use it also.

Re: Greasing wheel bearings

I purchased the Holy Tools greaser to do our RZR. It has 150 miles on it and each bearing took approx. 20 pumps. Good luck with yours.

$50 for the MI greaser. Ain't never been lazy working on the rzr. I'll take out 2 pinch bolts and a tie rod bolt all day long to save the extra $50 that the other greaser will cost you. Also, not much more to do on the rear.

Either way much better than having to replace the wheel bearings all of the time.

I just noticed they are $40 for the 900 and 1000 but $75 for the 800.

It looks like you need both greasers as your machine has 2 different size bearings. Definitely worth it.

Re: Greasing wheel bearings

Ordered the kit from ebay guy gavem both to me for 62$ to my door so i guess i cant really complain.

I actually just repainted the carriers and added new bearings so i guess a few more days apart for the extra grease wont hurt.

How often are you guys greasing these like once a yearly, each ride, each oil change?I live in Illinois but ride mostly in indiana so lots of mud sand water all of the things that love to eat bearings.
