Anyone bought one as a bolt on item and happy w it? Please respond w pic and your thoughts, and where you got it. Thanks in advance. i had one delivered allegedly for the 1000S but the 1000 muffler must be bigger than the 900 and frame mounts wouldn't fit. I spoke to vendor and they agree and are removing the product from their site (at least for 1000S fitment).
I just put the Tusk on my rig and really like. It doesn't interfere with access to the cargo bed. The upper storage rack is an added plus. When the spare tire is mounted there is minimal obstruction for the inside rear view mirror.
It was very easy to install and lined up with the factory mounting holes perfectly. I mounted it by myself by using a lash strap strung through the roll cage to steady it while I got the bolts centered.
We've got something pretty cool coming that bolts to our current production Rear Bumpers. The cage extensions are just going in to production now finally. We'll be adding these to the site in the next week or so. (Price will be around $175 for the extensions)
We also have this new bolt-on modular rack design coming too.
We will eventually. Unfortunately we haven't had a 4 seater in here for a while to do the fit up with. We don't see them very often around here so it could take a little while...
UTV INC POLARIS RZR S 900 REAR ADD ON BUMPER CAGE EXTENSION
This simple to bolt on cage extension features rear tail light and plastics protection. Attaches to all OEM locations with no modifications required to install. Access to rear diff without removing the cage. Billet aluminum end caps are provided to seat the ends of the tube. Hardware to mount to the chassis is included as well. Comes powder coated black to match the stock roll cage. Larger item and will have to ship LTL freight.
Just installed the Polaris rear cage extensions with Polaris deluxe rear bumper.
Very solid setup!!!
Saw grip doesn't work in place behind passengers seat, had to customize mount and move to middle so chainsaw brake would clear bar
As a 15+ RZR 900 4 owner it is driving me nuts that we aren't getting any love! I know there are more 900s machines out there but they don't need rear tubes. The 4 seat requires the rear tubes for chassis rigidity and the factory tubes are TERRIBLE!! A machine built to haul 4 people and it is a nightmare to pack the bed. Most rzr storage boxes won't work with the factory tubes and even finding a reasonable sized tote that will fit around them is nearly impossible.... A set of the RacerTech tubes or even the design that chirojh came up with would be a godsend! I would love to be able to drop in a ryfab cargo box and still maintain the integrity of the chassis.
We're definitely up for doing some extensions for the 900 4. We just haven't seen one in our area yet.
We're for sure committed to taking care of everyone we can so for anyone who can get me a 900 4 in Holland, MI for mock up, we will give you a free cage extension / rear bumper combo for use of your machine!
A built cage is always going to be better. The cage extensions add a little more rigidness to the factory cage and offer accessories. It maybe a cheaper and easier route for some.
Lujon is correct. We are now owned by Fox Shocks and this project has unfortunately been put on the back burner for the time being.. However we do still have the prototypes and are hoping to get back to this after the first of the year.
I believe it actual is working it's way back up the list... I really can't even speculate WHEN we would release this yet, but we did just put one together for a show vehicle a few weeks ago... I can however guarantee the production version will not be exactly like this. This version is just far too expensive to produce to ever hit a reasonable price point.
