12 900XP engine rebuild

Well ive been lucking and finally decided to post up. Well i had 30 hrs on my RZR and went out for a day of highspeed fun just flat out fields. Well i did my preride inspection set tire pressure, check oil coolant all the norm stuff. Well about 2hrs into our ride my rear tires locked up and unlocked and stalled the engine.... tried to start it again and it was knocking.... rod knock...

I was livid 30hrs on my machine and i spun a rod!!! so i got towed home to the trailer and went home. Called the dealer and they said theirs no way.... so i bit the bullet and dove head first into it....

What i found i was right i spun my Mag side rod... So bout 2000 later i got her all back together and rippin around... i still don know how 2.5qts of oil went missing... i checked high n low when i rebuilt it no avail...

Just wanted to share my story thanks for reading.. if anyone finds my oil let me know lol

Re: 12 900XP engine rebuild

I am very picky about stuff the dealer said they would look at it but word about their shop is not very highly spoke of. So I decided just to do it on my own Ive built a few motors for cars so i figued this should be not too bad and it wasnt with a manual in had and step by step it was easy.

Re: 12 900XP engine rebuild

My 2011 kept having a wet pan and never could find the leak. Most of it happened while it sat in the garage. I'd come back from a ride and it would be dusty, not wet. Go out into the garage a week later... wet pan. A year later finally took off the skid plate and 3 of the oilpan bolts on the front side were less than finger tight.

Launch. Land. Repeat.
Highly recommended: HiPer Racing Wheels / Quick Light / PEP Shocks / ALBA Racing

^ saying your engine blew without pictures is like a woman saying she got a boob job and not showing.
