im reading so many posts on blown rzr motors...as a new rzr xp owner im a bit concerned now......i know little to nothing about the rzrs really.....

Over 60 hours and 500 miles on my 2013 walker Evans and same on are jagged X no problems so far.

the number that post about a problem vs the amount there with 0 problems is slim to none. So many rzr's out there with a ton of miles. I have a 2011 xp with 3700 miles not one issue, just change oil and air filter and service the diffs each year.

We have 9 others in our group with XP's and no problems.

Mine has 900 miles on it and all I heard was balljoints broke.. but shoot lots of posts.... and I guess I donr understand this airfilter problems cause I've never owned a rzr so I dunno what's up

They have their share of problems.. But like everyone else said your going to see posts on problems. Why would anyone post a thread to say "hey my stock 900 started today when I got in it"? They don't, they post when they don't start or they won't move, ect. I'm not saying polaris is top notch quality. I just think with the shear amount of RZRs out there the number of blown engines, transmissions, ect is probably pretty low over all. My guess is you can jump on a forum for what ever truck you drive or car your wife drives and can probably find several complaints about them...

Over 8,000 miles with no engine troubles on my xp. I just keep the oil changed & air filter changed. I ride with two other guys, one with 7,000 and the other one has 4,000 miles. We have had to keep up on of the normal wear & tear maintenance, but no engine problems.

same here.... have read a lot... but have zero issues on this end.

my Walker Evans xp is new... but ive stuck 350 miles on it in 4 weeks.... not the first problem or glitch.. purrs like a kitten..

Awesome figured I'd comment since I'm a rookie as far as the rzr machine goes........ what's things I need to do to keep it going ??? I read about the airfilters but guess I don't quiet get it.

I bought the XP over others because of reliability. Just a tried a true platform. Perfect? Well no, what is? But I felt confident buying the machine. Glad I didn't buy a '12 Wildcat now, love the XP even if it is 'cheap and plain' feeling compared to the Maverick

The XP is a solid machine, the blown motors are coming from aftermarket intakes that suck dirt/dust/sand then collapse the rings and run out of oil.

First XP 900 went 1200 +miles. Stock no issues. Just maintained.

Have a 2012 xp 900 le. 400+ miles and many months in between rides. Riding rocky Tennessee Kentucky and West Virginia trials. Theme with me is it sits a lot but always goes when I want to go. Just put stage 2 on it and run 175+ miles at HMT West Virginia.
Have had no issues. Except when they put stage 2 on they found fault with primary clutch. I felt it Was working fine but they felt it may be an issue soon.?Primary main bushing? Polaris-star warranty covered it!! No questions. Before it failed they covered it with a complete new clutch! Not just a repaired clutch.
Good stuff!
I have a Uni foam air filter cleaned it twice in 400 miles. About to do a third. Keep rzr greased after washing it and parking it each ride. Push any mud water out AFTER ride. Don't wait till next ride. Crap sitting in there for weeks is not good. A arms trailing arms front rear shafts.
Have done full driveline fluids once and engine twice. Keep the air box drain plug working. It will clog with mud. Could become an issue over time if not checked......same with cvt side. Check them if in muddy conditions. Have seen them plug up and water dirt get to stock paper filter. Equals soggy filter not working right.
Not pretty on a friends....ride it till it breaks maintenance schedule. Cost him a lot.
One of those scrapped XP motors you reference. But not Polaris fault. Lack of attention equals failure.
Love my 900 looking forward to next generation!! Next week.

Got a xp4 with about 1900 miles on it, trouble free motor wise. Did replace a wheel bearing in the first 200 miles. Since then no problems.

2012 xp 900 1640 miles.... Engine seized up... At dealer Now well see if this extended warranty works....
