front sway bar?

i have a 2010 50" rzr 800 with stock springs and shocks, i have been thinking about taking the front sway bar loose for better flex. I do not do a lot of fast riding, most of what i do is slow trail riding, climbing hills, and some rock crawling. i am planning on leaving the rear sway bar connected in case i do decided to sling it around a corner lol. wondering if anyone has an opinion? i have read that it will be the best thing i can do but wonder about it with the stock springs and shocks.

I did it with stock springs and loved it. I tried taking the rear off too and it was great for articulation but really let it roll when going into curves hot. I put the rear back on until I went with LT suspension.

Michael...real easy to decide for yourself. Just disconnect the lower mount for the vertical link on one side and zip-tie up and out of harms way then take a ride. If you don't like it just reconnect, if you do then you can leave it that way or pull the whole bar/links out completely.

I took mine off and put the Racer Tech RZR 800 50" Quick Disconnect Front Sway Bar Kit on mine. That way I can easily connect or disconnect the front sway bar. It works great and was very easy to install. I did find that I get some spring sag and loose some ground clearance when they are disconnected. I have the 2011 Walker Evans model. I'll be ordering the Racer Tech heavy weight replacement spring kit in the spring.

Had to disconnect mine when I added the walker evans shocks because it would'nt mount with them. I assume the walker evans models have a different sway bar link up top or something. Anyway, a lot of my riding is like you mentioned and have had no issues. No need for a disconnect system-a couple of zip ties(good ones) to the frame and it's out of the way.

Sway bars are only there to shore up a terrible suspension. The problem is they keep the entire suspension under a bind to provide stability, so if you rock into a hole with one front wheel, the shock goes through the entire car. If you get off camber in big rocks, it affects the opposite side, in a bad way...

Took me two years of reading up here, and healing up in my wallet, but truthfully, almost every downside and almost every new owner complaint about clearance, sag, handling, ride, etc can and will be cured by putting on a quality suspension upgrade, that is quality springs, and quality shocks.

When I did finally do that, the old shocks, springs, and both sway bars hit the dumpster at about the same time. I actually took a chop saw to remove my sways...

I don't think I could stand to drive a stocker for even a day knowing what I have sitting right here, there is that much difference.

I took a zip disc to the sway bar, cut it right after the original mount, kept the mount and threw away the bar.

If I remember correctly when I took mine off I found that the bolt from the top end of the linkage fit perfectly for the shock. No spacer was needed.

Yes. 2010. I just looked at the '13 and see what you mean. You could always just get a shorter bolt for shock at hardware store. The top part is no issue.
