New RYFAB Windshield Owner.....Love It.

I just receive my RYFAB full face windshield from RYFAB and I love it. A little pricy at $500.00 bones but to me it is well worth it so far....The windshield is DOT approved and fits like a glove. Only issue is the cooter brown roof is overlapping the windshield and prevents it from folding down. But RYFAB is sending me a modification to allow the windshield to fold down with a quick disconnect of the cooter brown roof. The view is excellent.......This is worth a try guys if you can afford it....

Gail made a suggestion which was to make a quick disconnect on my Super ATV roof. I reversed the clamps and nutted the bolt on the bottom side of the roof. Then bought some plastic wing nuts and voila, undo two wing nuts and the roof raises to fold the windshield up or down. Works sweet and the windshield is the best out there IMO. Top notch design, workmanship fit and finish. Had mine for about a year.

Now that I look at your roof pics, my clamps are similar. Don't know your bolt/nut size, but take and reverse the bolts on the two forward clamps. Put them up through the roof instead of down through the clamps. Put the nuts on under the roof so all that sticks through the plastic roof is the threaded end of the bolts and the clamps are just clamped to the roll bar. You now have two studs protruding through the roof. The roof has enough flex that you can lift it the distance needed to slide windshield under by undoing just the forward attaching points. Buy a pair of black plastic wing nuts at your local hardware store the same thread size & attach. The whole thing now comes apart with no tools needed so you can easily fold the windshield up or down on the trail as needed. Pics would be a little difficult to get right now. Hope this helps.

I have a ryfab windshield and I just reversed the 1/4" bolts on the front of the roof and put a washer and a wing nut and it just takes a few seconds to take off and raise the front of roof to lower the windshield. Works great.
I also cut a slot for the wiper to fit.

This is the windshield that I wanted, but I just can't bring myself to pay almost 500 bones for it.

It does seem like a lot but hell look what people buy on their RZR's for ore than $500.00.....Doors, Turbo, Shocks and Springs....And the list goes on. To me I like to have a clear vision and not have to worry too much about dust on the plastic windshield or scratching and the noises from the cheaper windshields. Best of all....You get a full clear vision front of you....

Re: New RYFAB Windshield Owner.....Love It.

how does it fit down on the hood? That is where the lock and ride windshield fails miserably. When it becomes a problem is when its snowing or heavy rain, it comes right in. Is it a much tighter fit? If it is its worth it. Also, what did you put on the hood to secure to and not rub on the windshield or hood?

I can only compare it to my friends lock and ride on his ranger. The one I have fits very tight except in the two ends. I have about a 1/4" gap in a corner. But could be easily remedied with some silicone. The lock and ride my friend has too many gaps and makes so much noise. Too many areas where water or snow can get in. The real good thing about my windshield is the frame. The window glass is sealed in a metal frame. So even when you fold the window down you are folding the whole frame except the bottom piece which is about 4" high. The windshield is noiseless so far but I have not rode it much since installed. Hope that helps. Call these guys and they can answer anything you can throw at them. The owner has told me he had one on a RZR for about 3,000 miles and it works flawless so far........

The windshield bottom 4" secures to the two bolts on the roll bar on each side. Ryfab provides longer bolts. Since I have ProArmor doors, I had to purchase even longer bolts.......no big deal. They use a premium soft rubber weatherstrip to seal off against the hood. The top portion hinges off the bottom 4". It is a solid piece, nothing flimsy about it. I have purchased a ton of goodies for my RZR and this is by far the best designed and fabricated item I've installed on my machine, bar none. It is worth every penny Gail charges for it. Every time I raise or lower it, I just smile...... money well spent! There is no substitute for quality. Another happy customer.
