50 inch dilemma

I have had so much fun with the 50 inch model, taking it all over, using it as a tool... Not pooring too much cash into it and has done us well. But thinking of just putting some WER shocks on it to improve the ride, or an LT kit which seems outrageous in price! or try to find S suspension or sell it to put money toward buying an S model...trying to justify it all. I don't really want to spend a fortune as it is completely paid for and don't want burn savings or go into debt. Or maybe just keep using it as is and enjoy!! Any thoughts from ya all would be great

Re: 50 inch dilemma

I would say if you're happy with it ride the hell out of it and have fun. Dont worry about upgrading. Believe it or not I miss my old 50 inch rzr sometimes. It could go anywhere and was still so much fun.

If you really want to get LT I would say find a cheap used S suspension or look at super ATV. They both will work great and wont break the bank.

Rzr Weber Sold. Need new ride desperately!

I started with a 2011 LE Boardwalk Blue. Added The super atv +6 kit with axle shafts only. Then bought a set of xp 900 shocks. Now it rides like a Cadillac. Only cost $1400 total.

Re: 50 inch dilemma

Todd, I bought my 50" in 08, it was the only model, But the reason I bought it was to ride the 50" trails in Utah (I live in CA.) that being said and many $$$$$ ago I just got back from Utah and 350 miles of trails this year.
As said, my ride is heavily mod'd, I will focus on the suspension. The best improvement has been my Walker-Evans shocks and springs. You won't even recognize your machine. I also have 2" spacers and a 2" lift, the spacers are removed for 50" trails.
The second big improvement will be tires. I personaly prefer Pitbull Rockers.
I'm awaiting on the front A-arm upgrade from American Star. As your front end wears this upgrade not only strengthens your ride but makes sense from the cost of OEM parts.
From a safety aspect, do not trust your roof holder (it is not a cage). The seat belts are inadaquate, I recommend 5 point harnesses. These Mods saved both myself and my wifes life. I am not understating this point.
Any other questions, fire away. I have 6500 miles of experience,
John

I'm considering swapping to an S setup myself. Any ideas on where to pickup the a-arms, shocks, and fender flares?

Re: 50 inch dilemma

Thanks for all the input! We do use the hell out of it now and are happy...the 50 has taken us to many places in the western states... maybe shocks would be the only mod for a long time.. I have seen the WER shocks for 1500, where is the best deal? Been thinking spacers for a while but tire scrub factor worried me as did bearing load/wear and thought spacer lift is bad on cv joints. Seen the super atv kit for some time and seems like a good deal just wondered about quality..sucks that WER shocks wouldn't work with that kit, been reading good things so far on the WERs...also partial since I run walker wheels on my truck

Re: 50 inch dilemma

Better shocks and progressive rate springs will make a shocking improvement in ride and handling from my experience. A good suspension seat also is a great improvement.
