I've always been a big fan of Motul and Amsoil...both are pricey, but never had a failure either...

Has Polaris ever been a douche and not cover a motor under warranty, because you didn't use Polaris oil?

I run the 15w50 Rotella Dino in all our ATV's, UTV's and of course the Cummins! Have for many years! And I even run Tractor Hydraulic/Transmissin Fluid in the Front Diffs, Trannys, and Transfer Cases. And regular old 80w90 Dino Gear Lube in the Rear Ends.

I have used the Synthetic 5w40 Rotella for years and many miles in Touring Motorcycles with great success, then it went crazy out of price, so switched over to the 15w50 Rotella.

Re: What Oil for 800?

I've been running the Rotella 5W40 syn for over 3 years. Used to be about $13 a jug at Walmart but it's now over $20. Still cheap for full syn.

But a forum post a few days ago that Polaris syn is actually 10W50 has me interested in switching away from this super thin oil.

Re: What Oil for 800?

Seeing how your in MI I wouldn't worry about switching...down here in Tx on the other hand...super thin oil in 105+ deg weather...THIN OILS FAIL..bearing failure is common for 0 weight oils, some people get lucky, some don't.
