Re: 2014 Polaris 800 XC Photos

Same old engine, more weight due to heavier tires/wheels, silly accessories. $15k plus? No thanks!

I think personally it's great, now you can buy one turn key and go ride. No need to waste time buying and installing all those parts unless you choose to.

Re: 2014 Polaris 800 XC Photos

So basically it is a regular RZR with S flares, some 26" tires, a roof, and shocks. BFD.

Still a gutless slug.

Re: 2014 Polaris 800 XC Photos

I like the looks and idea, but agree with the 800 it's nothing great. Had they put the 900 in it, I think they would sell a lot.

A gutless slug?? I wouldn't go that far.
My 2013 Rzr S has plenty of power for everything I do and I like to raise hell and go fast.
Sure you can never have enough power but I definitely wouldn't call the 800 gutless. My "little" 800-S LE will destroy a Commander 1000 through the rough stuff no problem every time.

But I would love it if they would make a 60" XC-900...I would buy one!

In my area most dealers don't even keep XP's in stock because they don't sell around here.
I would say 95% of what they sell are 800's.

I have no doubts about that, it just isn't snappy enough any more. When I first got mine it was like WOWZERS... but that effect has worn off. It just doesn't have the instant throttle response I would like.

Re: 2014 Polaris 800 XC Photos

I think its a kick in the balls for the trail guys. Basically what everybody already has just added the accessories from the factory. Hell they could have at least updated the body and interrior like the 1000. The 1000 does look very impressive. Huge improvement over the old platform.

Re: 2014 Polaris 800 XC Photos

My hope is that this model was created to keep the market interested long enough to produce the next best thing like the Jagged X was. Sometime soon the 800 platform will have to be upgraded... not to say that I don't love my S le but the Pro Star engine in an A-arm chassis would be fantastic, even better with the stronger chassis, new look and better interior!

When it finally comes, it'll be worth the wait. (I hope)
