Re: 2013 RZR 800 Clutch Belt Change How To?
I just did mine yesterday, piece of cake. I just "rolled" it off/on the driven clutch. It's easier than it sounds, really. There are a few things I wasn't too impressed by, though. First, I'd sucked water into my CVT housing a couple times. I've never been in deep water, barely over the floorboards, not even close to the seats. Still, some dried muddy water in there. I think it's due to the lack of any kind of shield over the air intake, if you hit puddles fast, it splashes up there and can get sucked in. I think that's what happened anyway.
I cleaned up the clutches/housing with the pressure washer and then dried with compressed air. Also washed the new belt in dish soap to get any mold release off. Everything seemed to go fine, clutch engagement was smoother after the job.
One other disappointment-the clutch cover is pretty flimsy, nothing like a Yamaha or Can-Am one. Also, it's just held on with self tapping screws into plastic. Every other ATV I've worked on has thread inserts in the rear housing, and used quality machine screws. Polaris cheaped out here, use care not to strip the screws.
