Usa 570 fuel mileage

Hoping to share my fuel mileage data for all to learn from, maybe others will share there numbers.

I have a 2013 570 LE that I have been driving for 17 days, 199 miles total, 8.9 hours on guage. Does not really backfire and I had no issues with things not installed/set-up properly. Top speed has been 58 mph @ 7550 rpm.

Just finished my first full (7.25 gal) tank of fuel. It was 85 grade. I got 172.5 miles running it to empty. Had no problem restarting from the dry tank. That equates to 23.79 mpg. Not to bad. Much of the driving was done at speeds of 30 mph or faster. The actuall average speed has been 22.4 mph.

At trail speed of 10-15 mph I expect the mileage to be higher, maybe 25 mpg. Desert riding should be at least 20 mpg.

Please share your numbers! please include year and total miles as well as modifications that may effect results.

Peace..........later.............bob

Re: 570 fuel mileage

Rea,

Thanks for the info. Pretty good mileage, especially with a new tight engine. What elevation are you typically riding at?

I need to check mine, but when filling up at the gas station I get so excited to get back on the trail, I forget to record the details! : )

Re: 570 fuel mileage

alphabetadog,

Here in Cheyenne, WY. the elevation is 6,200. When I ride mountain trails it can be from 7,000 to 11,000. Have ridden at 12,400. Fuel injection is the only way to go when at altitude, or when changing altitude as dramatically as I do very often. The altitude in the desert where I also ride alot, not yet with the 570, varies from 1,600 to 4,500. In Utah I can ride at higher elevations similar to WY.

I haven't had my RZR 570 in the desert or Utah mts yet, but when I rode my 850 XP in all these places I found that altitude did not affect fuel mileage very much. Engine size, speed and riding style are, in my opinion, the largest factors in fuel mileage for any vehicle in in any terrain. Also how much you use low range is a big factor. I try to use low range sparingly, relying on experience, picking a 'line' and riding style to traverse terrain. To me low range is for very extreme and rough terrain, especially going up and down hills. Also use low when traction is limited or unknown as is water, snow or mud.

Re: 570 fuel mileage

My first check was 14 mpg but that was hammer down on both slow gnarly trails and fast fireroads. Dont think hammer down in the desert will be much different!

Re: 570 fuel mileage

Was getting 23 mpg, have just over 1000 miles, had reflash and seems like mileage went down. Rode 50 miles the other day at between 15 and 30 mph and used 2 3/4 gals, not good. Riding in loose sand may have had some effect but it did not before the reflash. Have to say no backfireing and maybe a little more power.

Re: 570 fuel mileage

I've been in the desert around Mesquite, NV my winter home for the next 6 months for 3 weeks. Ridden around 300 miles and mileage has been around 21-22 mpg before I got the larger tires. Dropped some from previous mileage and I'm not sure why. I am at a lower altitude with more O2 but am riding faster in this open terrain compared to the mountains back home. I recently changed to 27" tires from the stock 25" which will skew the mileage figures by 8%. The 900XCT radials are off a 900XP, got them for $725 with no miles on them. The ride is much better and the ground clearance gain is 1.5 inches. I need to clean the air filter after every ride as it is very dusty even when riding alone or in front. Also found that the combination of a windshield, roof, back window and doors creates issues with dust/dirt in the cabin. The windshield and roof create a dead air vacuum in the cabin. The back window cut down on that effect some, the doors helped as well. I have covered up every opening I can into the cabin as trying to keep the dust out. I used duct tape for the small openings and carpet for large areas behind and under the seats. I ride with the flip out windshield in the vent position to have some air flow...........time to go ride!

Re: 570 fuel mileage

My dad bought his 2013 570 in July this year and he already has 2400 miles on it. He has averaged 22-25 mpg since new. Most of our trail riding is 30-40 mph on fire lanes, converted railroad beds, and trails through the woods. I have 700 miles on my 800-S I bought 7 weeks ago. I have also averaged 22-25 mpg since new.
