570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

Well I've read a thousand tire reviews, and I think I've narrowed it down to the Bear Claw HTR's. We use our machine for low impact trail riding and hunting in the Midwest....nothing serious. Tired of reading about issues with the stock 2-ply tires. They look like decent tires for the money. If I road a 1000 miles per year I would go for Maxis, ITP, Pitbull, etc, but we don't ride enough. Anybody have experience with these tires? Good? Bad? Issues? Any comments are appreciated..

Re: 570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

I run them on my 570 and 800 rzr. They have been a great tire for me. There are several posts on these tires on this forum. I think anyone who has them likes them.

Thanks for the reply. If I get the same tire size and mount them to stock wheels, I won't experience any fit issues will I?

Re: 570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

I think you have my input already from the other post but I can guarantee 1 thing... If you go with the stock tire size (front and rear) there are ABSOLUTLEY, GUARANTEED no fitment issues whatsoever. I believe Soapy runs larger sizes in the HTR's and it was his suggestion that I try the HTR's (but again I am running the stock sizes) and it has been the best advice I have received thus far! We appear to ride similiar terrain and I am amazed at the better ride quality not to mention the piece of mind. They are heavier and I would expect to lose a couple miles an hour but I don't think you're racing it. (I do believe allot of the other tires are heavier anyway.) As I said in the other post, I've got 768 miles on the HTR's since I switched roughly a month ago... and well, I coldn't be happier that I listened to soapy. (And I do put on over a couple\few thousand miles a year.)

I always support the forum vendors but I couldn't pass up this deal, I just pulled my receipt for all 4 and it was $365.52 shipped:

Front Tire in stock size:
Kenda Bearclaw HTR Front Tire - Chaparral Motorsports

Rear tire in stock size:
Kenda Bearclaw HTR Rear Tire - Chaparral Motorsports

Enjoy!

Re: 570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

Thanks Alba for the input. I planned on sticking with stock sizes, but I wanted to make sure. I've read a few posts where guys had clearance issues with tires, but this was probably due to new rims with different offsets in combination with different tire sizes. I'm not one to mod the hell out of a machine. I just want something that works, is safe, and is reliable. It sounds like the HTRs will suit our needs perfectly. Thanks again for the great advice and input!

Re: 570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

The 570s have much more room for tires compared to the 800 rzr. The 800 has a motor mount that limits the tire being any wider on the rear without spacers. The 570 can easily take wider tires on the rear with no rubbing at all. I am running 26x9r12 BC HTRs on the front and 26x11r 12 on the rears and have no problem with rubbing on either end.

Soapy was that a typing error. I am not seeing the bc htrs available in a 26x10x12. Did you mean 26x11x12?

Yes, it should have read 26x11r12 on the rear.

Soapy could you tell me if the stock wheels will run the 26x9x12 on the front and if the stock wheels will run the 26x11x12 on the rear with or without spacers? Thanks.

Re: 570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

You will not need spacers with the stock wheels and the larger tires. I have not used the stock steel wheels but have used the same size wheels off a LE rzr with no problems.

Also soapy I see you run skinny's on one of your machines. Do you prefer it to the 11's on the rear?

Re: 570 - Kenda Bear Claw HTR's?

The stock steel wheels on the 570 are a 5+2 offset. On a 800 50 inch they are a 6+1. On my 570 I originally ran 26x9r12 on the front and 26x11r12 Bear Claws on the rear with 6+1 Le wheels from a 800 rzr. This combo kept my width under 50 inches. Last night I put on 26x9r12 Bear claw HTRs all the way around using some new 4+3 offset wheels. This made the overal width just under 52 inches. After a 80 mile ride I have the following observations comparing the 2 different combinations. The 9 inch wide all the way around are easier to turn and should give a little better mileage. The 9 inch rubber slides out quicker on the rear when taking fast gravel corners.I think the 11 inch wide rubber on the rear do give a little better traction. I will probably run the 11 inch wide in the snow or on sand dunes. For most of my summer riding the 9 inch wide rubber works better for me plus I can rotate the tires as needed to prolong the tread life.
