RZR 570 Top Speed

I expect the dealer show had preproduction machines plus there wasn't much room to wind one out according to my dealer. With 45 hp and a high reving engine the top speed should be at least 50 and maybe as high as 60. We will know next month. 40 mph will hurt sales in some areas.

JoeyD said if he wanted a 50" rzr he would get one over the 800, he was at a POPO test ride in Michigan this past week. Must perform well for him to say that.
Apparantly it has the tranny like the XP9 also.

My 570 hits 57mph on a dirt road and the engine feels like it's at 3/4 way. The limiter kicked in and the engine turns off/on at 57. Without the limiter, I believe it would do 60+. The 570 is designed for trails and I ride mostly trails where you ain't going past 30mph, in fact most of the time your going 10-15mph between trees, humps in the road and narrow curves and once in a while water/mud.

Not bad for the 570, when Polaris first built the 570 it was faster than the 800, they had to detune the bike to keep it below the 800, side by side at a 100 feet the 570 will run and almost for a second get out front of the 800 but then falls behind, I think it will not take much to make this a fast fun machine for a small bike...I foresee the 800 last run is 2012 and a big bore 570 will take it's place as some kind of 670 or 770....the bike shares the same tranny as he 900 and will be cheaper to build rather than continue building a tranny and rear diff...I love the 800 and hope not to see it fade out but it will happen

Not doubting what you are saying about the 570 originally being faster than the 800, but if you wouldn't mind sharing where you got that info, I sure would appreciate it. I am currently looking for a UTV to replace the wife's Rhino 450 (good machine, but 35 mph top speed is too slow for her now), and I'm looking at the 570 as a potential better performing, much faster solution. Just be nice to know that hopefully with a few minor mods, this 570 could be a little screamer.

Drove a 570 a couple weeks ago. With me at 180#'s and the salesman probably pushing 230#'s we had no trouble hitting 55mph (according to the gauge). Rev limiter kicked in at about 56-57ish. Both salesmen claimed that Poo de-tuned the 570 so as not to overrun the 800...take that with a grain of salt.

He is correct...I work at a Polaris dealership and Polaris told us the same thing, I can see it, we ran a 570 and the 50" 800 and the 570 was all over the 800 the first 100 feet, like I said in my last post for a second the 570 was out front but the 800 would slowly and I mean slowly start to pull ahead, so in the trails the 570 would be as good in the performance stand point, hell u can take a 800 and out run a 900 if the conditions are right but in a 300 foot drag race the 900 is the clear winner as the 800 is vs the 570, I was very happy with the power and makes it a fun little buggy, we can not keep one in stock, fast as we get one in they are already sold as a bike for the wife...if u have a 800 with some miles on it and u slide up next to a 570 with a 120 pound woman in the drivers seat you better be ready lol!!!

I have my speedo set on km/h (canadian,eh), and I see 96-97 km/hr (60MPH) when the rev limited kicks in. If the trail stretch has a slight grade up, it shows about 94km/h (58MPH) but the rev limiter still kicks in. It seems as if the engine would keep reving if it were not for the limiter, no matter the grade or surface!!. My '07 grizzly 700 would have to be on pave, on a level grade or slight downgrade to hit it's limiter!! Most of the time, it ran out of power first!! Great little motor... raced a 250 SX 3 wheeler weighting what, 350 lbs. and smoked it. He even jumped the start!!!

You're right, Duke. But it was awesome shutting this guy up. He has been talking smack ever since I brought the RZR home. I had to wait 'til I got some hours on the engine and tranny. Besides, if I win the drag, I'm the one in the front of the pack. Everyone else gets to eat my dust...LOL

yeah well ive heard people complain about how the tires get punctured too fast on the factory tires too but i havent punctured mine yet and im pretty agressive with my rzr. On a side note the stock tires do wear out pretty fast if you drive them on the road my rzr has 50% tread and ive driven stock since i got it it has 900 more miles on it.
