Parking brake adjusmtment

Happy Holidays everyone.

Just handed over the keys to my 2 girls this morning for their new 170. After a couple laps around the yard I could smell the brakes. We havent but the parking brake on yet but found it overly tight. Adjusted it, I thought, a couple more laps and the smell was back and rear brake was smoking. Loosened again and havent had it come back but.... There is no adjustment in the manual? Does anyone have input or instructions on how to set this up properly?

Thanks

Re: Parking brake adjusmtment

Does anyone out there know how to properly adjust the parking brake? Mine is backed right off & I find after 5 hrs on the unit that the rear brake is still dragging? Every couple lpas around the acerage the kids pull in and the rear brake smells and is smoking?? They kids havent even touched the brakes to slow do either?
Do these brakes need to wear in? The fronts are fine just the rear??

Ours was the same Culvert, until I saw the red brake light on when he was driving on the flat... I told him to use one foot... cured.

Re: Parking brake adjusmtment

Mine was the brake adjustment. Even with me driving and never touching the brakes it would grab while driving.
