Bluduh Problem with RZR 170

Has anyone else had this problem? I just bought a brand new 170 for my daughter, They rode around at the birthday party for about 10 minutes ,then it would not crank. It is in the shop now. The stator took a dump, no fire. I hope this isn't the start of a trend.

Re: Problem with RZR 170

So far my girls have had nothing but fun with theirs. I did notice yesterday though that sometimes whenthey go to back up if they hit the gas a little to hard theres a popping sound in the rear, I think the chain needs to be tightened some, but other than that it's been great.

Had a starter rebuild and a solenoid bad on my daughters --with a long list of other issues.Your chain need to be replaced with an o-ring chain and it will still pop from time to time when in reverse theres no way around it .Its the way they set the machine up with the slack adjuster

Scott,

Hate to hear about the starter and the solenoid I know I get agravated sometimes when the little booger is hard to start. I know it would cost just a few dollars more but for the life of me I don't know why they don't just put EFI on these things, especially on youth stuff.

Where might I find one of these o-ring chains? I got my service manual out the other night to read up on adjusting the tightness of the chain and boy I'm going to have to get on it. The other day my two girls both 9 had just started down an encline nothing steep when they decided to stop and back up, boy was that a horrible sound. With the machine already downhill and trying to back up it really popped alot. I hope there hasn't been any damage to the sprocket yet.

Let me know on that chain if ya can I'll be getting one, thanks for the information.

Brian

Re: Problem with RZR 170

I had the dealer replace mine.Any good Bike shop could look at it and give you the correct one.I have had numerous problems with mine.Since owning it 18 weeks it has been in the shop for over 12 of those weeks .Carb problems, parking brake problems , throttle problems ,steering gearbox problem, The motor has been rebuilt and lasted 2.4 miles then oil was pouring out of it.I have talked with several people at Polaris customer service and they think that this is normal .It is a piece of junk !!Have written letters and called Polaris president -still waiting on a reply from him. What is Customer Service????
