cage questions
Hey guys, I have looked thoroughly on this site with mostly everything that has to do with the rzr. I've looked at a lot of you guy's cages but I've always had one main question.
First....what seems to be the best design? And how do you guys make them removable? And most importantly...when making these "nice" cages, especially the really strong chromoly ones....isn't that just making the "weak point" your frame somewhere? I'm just thinking when looking at all of these in the pictures, where WILL it bend? Thoughts? Thanks, Brad ---Just trying to get all of my ducks in a row before I build one. Trying to think a step ahead, as when I have someone else in there....I'm driving/building to protect their life too! |

Re: cage questions
The reason I built the one I did was because my kids rolled the RZR twice and ruined the stock cage. The argument for the "cage did its job" is there. Bottom line I don’t think Polaris had any idea what we would put our machines through. This machine (RZR) and the other wana be brands out there were not designed to withstand this type of punishment. Therefore the birth of the better engineered and much better built products. Engineered and fabricated by extremely talented end users. After I had installed my new cage, one of my employees, who had never driven anything of thing of this sort, rolled the machine. It was a great relief that no one got hurt, and the roll cage did not give at all. The frame pillars that hold the cage had to be straightened and strengthen. The after market cages are so much stronger than stock and even stronger than the stock frame. You will find tons of aftermarket parts designed to strengthen the stock frame. The only way to get the best of both worlds is to buy an after market frame replacement.
