To get out of the front diff Just pull hard and fast. The to get out the cv you have to knock them out. Do you have a manual.

No i don't have a manual. what c clip are you talking about? I'm knew at this stuff so all you do is pull the axel hard and fast to get it out? What about putting it back in b/c i don't know what you are talking about with the c clip. Should i take the old a arms and the new ones to the shop for them to switch them out?

Re: How do you remove axels?

You can search this site for the free Polaris manual and down load it. I paid $20 for mine on line. You will need a good size snap ring plier to remove the snap rings. I bought a pair of Channellock snapring pliers model 927 that work really well.$25 investment. The spline on the axel that goes into the front differential has a small retainer ring on it. When you jerk on it the ring collaspes and allows the spline to come out. There is a split c ring that hold the axel cv joints into the spline socket. You can pull this out with a small screwdriver. All the grease inside the cv boots tend to hide. I buy a roll of paper towels and some shop latex gloves and clean it out. The grease is really nasty and stains. Remember on the reinstall to repack with grease really well. The manual is well worth it and explains the assembly and reassembly very well.

Don't know if this will work, but this is the link I used. I down loaded it & saved it right to my computer. Burned a couple discs to. Gave them to my buddies

Re: How do you remove axels?

remove the snap ring with snap ring pliers. you may have to turn over and with a deadblow hammer knock the ball joint all the way in. oppsite side of the snap ring. This make the snap ring easier to remove. And in the CST kit you should have a piece of tube metal after you get the sanp ring off postion the tube on the bottom of the ball joint and press out. or use a soft faced hammer I used a dead blow as to not scar the ball joint. Any one else got some tricks Chime in.

Re: How do you remove axels?

The winch was in the way with my Dragon Fire Racing kit!!!!! The upper a arm will hit the winch motor!!! There is not enough room, trust me. I ended up taking a plasma cutter and cutting out the gusset plate to clear the motor. It took a little time to make it look good but now you would never know it wasn't made like that. That is the only complant I have about the long travel kits, some of them will not work with the winch. I have over 500 miles on mine and I love it. I am not sure if you have the same problem but I am betting that is why the winch is in the way. Let me know if I can help. Been there and done that:>
