Wrench Pictures of Snorkel-Thanks for the help!!

After I got everyone's ideas, I went ahead and built my snorkel. I was having problems with the stock POS airbox and this was my cure. I have about $45.00 into it and I used the K&N filter that I already had on it. The vent between the seats in the crankcase vent and I used a Fram crankcase filter that fit perfectly into the stock airbox intake. The Fram part number is BA3525, and it fits perfectly!! All the other vents were extended up also. I didn't run the clutch pipes up very high because that is as deep as I want to go. The air filter is up as high as I could run it to try to keep the noise away from my head. Thanks for all the help guys! $45.00 beat the hell out of a $400.00 Air box kit!!! So far it works perfectly. Oh yeah, I do have the "Outterwears" cover on the filter-it is just not in the picture.

I don't have the airbox anymore!! If you look at the last picture, that is were the airbox used to be. I came right out of the throttle body and went up from there. The K&N filter is under the roof now. If that doesn't answer your questions let me know. I can try to take some more pics.

Did you notice any change in performance by running 2" pipe? It seems like it would be restrictive.

I haven't got to ride it much because I started on clutching now. But the little I did get to ride it seemed exactly the same. The stock airbox is pretty restrictive it's self, the air intake between the seats is pretty small. I wouldn't be surprised if 2" pipe plumbed as straight as you can would give you more air flow.

I don't agree with the stock box being a POS and yes it can use someimprovement but I've had mine on for over 1800 acumulated miles with no issues. Yes a few changes needed to be made for proper air draw but the box itself if properly sealed and maintained seems just fine for my riding style.

must not be riding like we ride. An the only questions that I have was what size pipe did you use. I saw in the previous posts what size. Did you drill threw your bed. An where did you find the filter. I havent had much luck on finding a k&n...

Re: Pictures of Snorkel-Thanks for the help!!

First off, the stock box would work for some riding conditions. RZRider must be one of those people. I have not had much problems with the dust-dirt getting past the filter. I will say that with the stock box the filter gets dirty WAY faster than my wheelers and other side by sides. The problem I had was that when I crossed creeks and deeper water the air filter would get wet, and the airbox would be full of mud. It is just to low to the ground for what I do. Short of using sealant (silacone or the like) I tried quit a few things. The pipe size is 2" ID. Go as straight as possible to avoid restriction. Yes I did drill through the bed with all three pipes. And the K&N airfilter is the stock air filter replacement that K&N offers for the stock airbox. It is cool to see the same rig used so many ways. Everyone has a different riding style, and expects different things from their rig. I am almost done with my RZR and will post some more pictures of what I built for my riding needs.
