GLOVE BOX

It was a pain not having some sort of compartment to carry registration, tire gauge or whatever?? so I mounted a small ammo box under the 'oh sh*t' bar'.

Standard 1.5 inch U bolts with rubber plumbing washers under the nut and steel washer keeps it waterproof (ammo box itself is already waterproof).

Plenty of room to do this with a larger ammo box but I did not think so beforehand so started with the small one first.

Mounted with lid opening left to right because the other way when opened the lid would fall off because of the half pins used in the hinge.

Re: GLOVE BOX

You didn't like the Polaris bag?
I always thought it has a nice fit, it has a zipper opening and easily removable if you need to take it with you, I also like the fact that you can throw it in the wash and it won't rust.

Re: GLOVE BOX

Not being waterproof was a reason I did not buy the Polaris bag (however, I do use the in between seat shoulder bag).

Also, I carry some pointed objects (ie: multi bladed screwdriver) that would poke holes in a canvas bag.

Re: GLOVE BOX

you will hate the under dash bag if you go through any water at all. If you do go through water and plan to use this bag get the under dash block off kit and seal it with silicon rubber.

I've never had a water issue but I do have the dash kit and my bag is Scotch Guarded as you should do with any new bag.

Re: GLOVE BOX

One other thing that helps the sealing at the dash is using waterproof expanding foam, they use it while sealing nooks and crannies in home ponds and water falls.

Nope, no water for me except when washing it off before putting it away. We mostly ride dunes and would like to have a glove compartment to keep some little goodies handy.

If anyone has a good used one they want to sell let me know.

Re: GLOVE BOX

That's a very good solution. I would put some sort of rubber cushion as added protection against accidental knee bumps !!

Re: GLOVE BOX

Just so you know, the Pro unit it a single piece under the dash and a little harder to install but has no seem that you need to seal like that of the Polaris unit.
