snorkel final word

I made an attempt today to snorkel my rzr. After many different ideas I've come to the conclusion that you are better off buying a kit. It is almost impossible to snorkel the belt exhaust cleanly with pvc and to be honest your going to spend almost as much money as you would on the kit. So save yourself the hassle and order a kit.

I'm going with the extreme kit I've heard really good things about this kit and for the riding I do it's what i need. I'ts easy to snorkel the intakes but the belt exhaust is a bitch.

Re: snorkel final word

Yup I just posted that in a different topic, about the belt exhaust. I was determined and did mine. I did end up spending more than I origianlly thought I was going to because of buying stuff that I thought would work and didn't. I have around 80 into mine still a 100 bucks cheaper than what you can buy for. If I was to do it over I would know what to buy.

Re: snorkel final word

If you try to replace all the Polaris plumbing with PVC pipe it's a tough job & a tight fit (I'm told) but many snorkel kits (including Extreme) only remove the airbox and the snorkel pipes attach with rubber collars stretched over the oval-shaped plumbing. That's a lot easier & cheaper.

That is the only one giving me a problem, but I solved that problem last night. Everytime I ride this on the trails or for a farther distance then just down the road I check it over. The first time I have it cobled together w/ PVC witch is hardkind of. So from out of the belt cover I put a 2" pvc rubber conector on it(first you have to cut about 3/4 of an inch off the rubber connector. That will allow you PVC 90's and 45's to line up better. Otherwise your pvc will not fit right if you dont cut it. When my snorkles come up through the box left to right, if your looking at the back starting from the driver side it airbox engine and belt exhaust. I can try and get some pics afterwork if you want.

Re: snorkel final word

This is one of the easiest ATV/UTVs to snorkel. I did mine in a few hours which included 2-3 trips to Home Depot. Will try to get pics up. Total cost was around $34 not including diesel to and from the depot.

Re: snorkel final word

The inlet for the belt drive is 1.5" with a 1.5" -2.0" coupler near the top everything else is black 2" ABS pipe. It is a tight fit but it does work. How do I post the pics
