Trailering The RZR

Have any of you come up with a good (and easy) way to secure your RZR to your trailer? I don't have bumpers on mine yet and I've found that you have to reach way up under the plastic to get to the frame for a solid point to attatch the straps to. I'm just curious what you all are doing. It would have been nice if Polaris would have put some tie down loops in accessible places. Thanks for your input.

Re: Trailering The RZR

I think that you've found the way we all have to do it. I have a 10' trailer and have found that I have to back the Rzr onto it because the engine (weight) is in the rear and I wouldn't have any tongue weight otherwise. Since it's usually being towed behind my 5th wheel I like the trailer to be stable. As far as attaching it to the trailer, I just hook on to the frame or torsion bars and then up to the jack bolts on the tongue of the trailer. I don't think it needs a lot as it just sits there nicely and doesn't move during the trips I take. I have however found that I am slicing the straps on the diamond plate I put on the front of my trailer. Have to do something about that.

Re: Trailering The RZR

Polaris provides secure mounting points making the use of motorcycle tiedowns a snap.

For the front -- On the lower part of the grill - Is an opening with a steel bar. Simply attach a motorcycle tiedown and secure to the front of the trailer. One can also fit 2 tiedowns on this bar.

Also - As a safety - One can also attach a tiedown to the front diff skid plate as it has lightning holes in it. Another very easy attachment point.

For the rear - I use the two safety chain holes - Located one on each side of the hitch. I also use two ratcheting motorcycle tiedowns and with the front - This is rock solid. Very easy to secure.

Here is a pic of the RzR on the trailer ..........

Re: Trailering The RZR

Sure .....

77" wide by 10' long. These are inside measurements.

Bought it 77 X 10 RAMP Utility Trailer at Trailer City here. Hope this link feature worked !!

If not .......... Trailer City Portland ........ ATV -- 7710.

The sides remove if needed.

The only thing it didn't have -- Rubber pucks on the drop down rear gate. I added 5 of um.

You can see um in this pic ...........

Hope this helps ..........

Re: Trailering The RZR

More like his poor wallet. I have a 76x12 foot trailer with a ramp and i installed a tie down in the center in front of the rzr and in the center in the rear of the rzr. all i do is drop the ramp pill onto the trailer and i have a ratchet strap that is pre-adjusted so i can hook it from the rear metal bottom plate to the tie down. And than i put it in nutrul and turn key on and hook my winch to the front tie down and pull it tight. turn key off and put in park. flip the ramp up. put my red panny's on and im ready to go to bed. (lol) I went with a 12 foot so i could install a p/u storage box up front. vary handy. also i always strap down in nutrual so i dont bind on the trans.

Re: Trailering The RZR

I can take more pic's butt .............. The sides set in pockets that are welded to the outer frame. The vertical rails slide into these pockets and there is a bolt at the bottom of each pocket that secures the sides.

Look close at the side shot picture and you can see the bolt head that secures the vertical rails.

Naw -- Trucks barely broken in !!

As for draggin the trailer around ..................

No Complaints .. ..

Re: Trailering The RZR

I use the bar in the front under the radiator and ratchet strap it to the tounge. As for the rear: I anchor to the trailer, slide the strap over the left rear tire, through the engine compartment then over the right rear tire, back to the trailer frame and ratchet it down.
