How are you guys mounting the intercom? I have only used my headsets for in car communication but wanted to setup the car to car before the big KOA north glamis trip.
I have the portable system but have a permanent box mount for the car to car radio. I have the PTT for the car to car radio Velcro'd to the gear shifter shaft as it's easy to locate by feel without taking your eyes off of the road. I've seen them mounted on steering wheels but I've always found that the one time someone wants to talk to you from another car is when your turning the wheel and the PTT button is at some weird angle to your hands and impossible for you to use. Not to mention you have to route the cable back to the unit, which usually isn't an issue if your intercom is permanently mounted under the dash, but the cord is usually too short to give you ideal routing options if it is mounted any where else. Which is why I like the portable system, I can route it however I want or need it so that everything is where it needs to be where ever I place it. It helps that it came in it's own bag as I sit it between the two seats and everything is out of the way or within reach. When I am done riding, it all goes back into the bag in a matter of seconds and I don't have to worry about it when I wash my RZR with the hose.
