Under dash & fender seal project
I Installed the Trail Armor dash & fender seal kit, as well as the RZR Cookies. I then added extra protection by sealing all of the areas on the front firewall area with black silicone. After that I added expanding foam around the Cookies. This will not only completely seal that area from water & mud, but will add extra protection for the plastics in case of a roll over.

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
Nice, I did the same on mine. Did you seal the steering shaft as well?

No, But I'd love to do it.
I wasn't sure how to seal it without interfering with the shaft movement. Do you have any pictures?

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
I put vaseline all over the shaft (Oh boy, I'm going to hear about this one), spray the foam (I used the waterproof black expanding foam) and rotate the wheel a few times while it's setting up. It leaves a pretty nice seal but doesn't bind anywhere.

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
What if you need to remove the plastics for any reason?? I would be fearful of a bond that may break parts during removal.

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
Not at all, you can break the stuff right off. You can use a knife and cut it off as well. All I know is when it's a cold winter night and the breeze is chilling you to the bone you won't mind a little extra work when (if) removing plastics.
I guess it's a matter of weighing out the pro's and con's??

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
I did the same with my unit only I used a can called "great stuff" it is a flexible window and door sealant. I was worried about spraying too much and haveing the plastic bulge out with normal spray foam. The only bad part was it is messy, it doesn't expand as fast as regular spray foam so you have to put it on in layers or it ends up drooping and falling on the floor. Here is a pic of the stuff.

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
As with most projects, it helps to have a buddy help you.
It is pretty easy though. You will need the black silicone to fill the gaps on the inner fenders.

Re: Under dash & fender seal project
Cookies are 4 discs that sit at the end of the frame rails. Their task is to prevent the frame rail from leaving a square hole in the plastic on a small rollover or impact.
If you are going to use them, be sure to mount before installing the fender kit for easy access.
