Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

I bought my Warn RT30 from Polaris, it's the one that is Warn. There was no mini rocker switch in the kit. Has anyone else gotten the Warn 3.0 Polaris winch? Did it have the rocket switch in it?

Thanks

Tony

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

Thanks, at least I know it was not left out. Funny, if you buy a plain old Warn RT30, it comes with rocker switch and the corded remote.

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

i have the polaris 3500# winch and it also only came with the wired remote i went to a local shop where they sell boat accesory and got a 20 or 25 amp spring loaded rocker switch and just t-ed it in to the control wires and mounted it on the dash and i mounted the remote plug under the hood just in case i eve needed to use the winch and not be in the seat but so far the switch has been all i needed and it works great. you can get a regular two way rocker switch but i wanted one that was weather tight so i went to the boat shop hope this helps -bone-

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

The Warn mini rocker is wired with the bullet connectors so I will probably just order one. They are about $35. I would think they are water or weather proof.

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

I bought the XT30 Warn winch it comes with the wireless control the rocker switch and synthetic rope. Payed $485. heres the link.
XT30 Extreme Terrain Winch
This was the best price I have found and with the synthetic rope makes for a good bargain.
A friend on our sand site is giving me a corded remote he has extra.
There is also a XT40 but don't know much about it.

Dollarsign Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

Had my dealer try to soak me $600.00 for the Polaris labeled Warn RT30and another $100.00 dollars to mount it. I guess the Polaris label makes it pull harder!
The Polaris labeled winch would not have had the rocker switch. Why they (Polaris) charges way too much for less is beyond me.
I purchased my Warn RT30 (with rocker switch, and long cord included) for $335.00 at motoxoutlet.com This is a great place for parts.

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

quadnkev and matheson.....did you still need to buy a maounting kit on top of what you paid for the winches? How hard were they to install? I plan to buy a winch here in a couple days and the warn xt series with the wireless remote is what I am thinking of getting.

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

I bought a mount from a vendor on PRC.com I believe it was EMP for about $50.00. I will have the dealer install mine with a steering stabilizer at the same time when they do the setup. The rest of the heap I will do. I am STILL waiting for my RZR to come, probably about the 15th of this month.
However I will be doing raceteam support for the 4th round WORCS race 18-20th so will not take delivery until after that, why burn warrenty time?

Re: Polaris Warn RT30 kit question

Yes you do have to buy the mount kit. Several places have them for about $50 to $65. It isn't too difficult, but it is time consuming to install the mount and winch. Make sure the mounting place for the contactor block (I think that is what they called it) is in a place where it can be reached by all the wiring. If you have never done one of these plan on a good three hours+. Removing the front end of the RZR is recommended, easy, and worth doing. It is held on by about 8 screws and a series of compression clips.
If you can get a dealer to do the install for a hundred bucks or so and back up their work, it's well worth it, to not have the hassel. After all you just spent $11,000.00 on an RZR, what's another $100.00 right?
Good Luck!
