Re: Clutch Spacer Removal... THE RIGHT WAY! (pics)

I was in Winchester Bay all last week from the 5th to the 12th. I think it was on the 7th or so I put on my new belt after washing it in hot soapy water, and cleaning the sheaves with rubbing alcohol. Before installing the belt I pulled the limiter out and lightly scuffed the edges of the belt with a green scotch brite pad. I performed the two heat cycles break in procedure then I put 300 pretty hard miles on it after that and it is still working great. I found that after removing the limiter I could not hit the rev limiter any more. The sand flats were rough enough that all I could do was 61 or 62 mph at 6000 rpm, any faster and I was about to swap ends... I guess it's time for some good shocks?

No effect to low end, just increases top speed. Polaris has totally removed this spacer on all 2010 models.

Re: Clutch Spacer Removal... THE RIGHT WAY! (pics)

I have had my spacer out since Sept 2007 when I installed the EPI stage II clutch kit. My EPI belt has over 600 very hard miles on it with no signs of wear. I only had the RZR a week before removing the spacer so I can't say for sure if it lost any low end, but when riding with other RZR's I do not seem slower off the line. Great post!!!

No problems! The 2010 RZR doesn't even come with a spacer. The only reason I wouldn't recommend removing the spacer is if you don't want to go faster

Hmmm...Let me try to find a way to slow my rzr down, I know, I'll put the danged old spacer back on that I cut off...dammit. Cut it off be done and don't look back, you'll just see your buddies. Nice job on the pics -n- stuff Maybe I should order another spacer to keep on hand : )

Re: Clutch Spacer Removal... THE RIGHT WAY! (pics)

I removed my spacer and tried it last night. I had done some acceleration runs from 0-50 mph before I removed the spacer, so I did again after I removed the spacer to make sure I still had my acceleration. It still accelerated great, no change. I then did a top speed run up the road, I easily hit 60 mph. I turned around and flew down the road and hit 62-63 mph.
