Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
Here's the Plan. I need to get the following items in my 08 RZR.
GPS: Lowerance 540C & Radio/Intercom Ultimate 2 from pciraceradio.
It seems to be a bit weird with finding the right areas to put things so it's ascetically pleasing to the eye as much as functionality.
If you know or have any ideas, Please share. I want to install this once and only once.
Thanks.

Re: Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
Have you looked in RAM mounts, they have tons of ideas and the adjustability is damn near endless. They are probably one of the strongest and toughest mount systems made.

GlobalMap Baja 540C | Lowrance
That's a big unit. If you haven't already spent the money on it, I'd pick a smaller one.
I think you're going to have to cut the dash somewhere to make that one fit. Here's a picture of mine.
You can buy the baja base maps for pretty much any brand of gps.

Re: Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
Yep, it's a pretty big unit. I'm familiar with Garmins and have been using them. My color screen tends to like batteries.
I've seen mounts that are pretty neat and can work great. I'm just trying to find out my options and see what works for people running what I intend to do.
Thank you

Re: Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
i will be installing the same exact equipment soon. i was thinking of making a mount for the GPS off the o-shit handle bracket, and having it swivel side to side. i also think the PCI stuff is going to go under the seats so i can reach the knobs. dont have any pics because i have not got that far yet. good luck.

Re: Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
keep me posted on what you do. I was thinking have the gps under the center dash tilted up. (pretty close to the gas leg passenger left leg.) and putting the radio off to the left of the steering wheel.
I don't have much room under my seats.

Re: Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
I installed the 540c under dash with a RPM box. I'll post a pic after I get everything unloaded. Where did you buy the Ultimate 2 from? I have been thinking that the place for the intercom would be behind the shifter. It would be easy an easy reach for adjustment.

Re: Technical Wizardry Installations Ideas!
I'll post photos on Mon. or Tues when I get back home. I'm very happy with the installation of the PCI Radio / Volume-Squelch controller.
My Volume-Squelch is mounted in the dash (cut the dash out) to the left of the steering wheel. The Radio is just below the center of the dash underneath, but poking out and easily reachable / viewable.
I had a piece welded onto the upper back right cage for the Antenna.
I went to Sand Trix in Arizona for my install. They did a great job.
I'll take some good photos so you can see... it'll take a couple days though.
