Polaris 170 clone

Some of my kids have grown and moved into a full sized RZR so I no longer need two of them. For those of you that are not acquainted with the clones, the big difference between these and the 170 are the engines they run, this being a GY6 150 with many other parts being interchangeable.

The one that I am selling has been modified including snorkels, skid plate, high flow intake, performance exhaust, re-jetted carb, 35 tooth sprocket from Pitster Pro and the Suzuki LTR shock modification to the rear axle. The tire you see in the photo will be replaced with the stock tires unless you are willing to pay $400 more for them. I will also include a complete set of used original tires and wheels from the second clone that I am keeping.

I routinely go thru these machines and the one that is being sold has a brand new carb, cylinder, piston, rings and three new engine mounts.

There is some scrapes and bruises on the body but thatís because it was ridden like it was supposed to be. Make no doubt about it, this machine puts all stock clones to shame and Iím willing to bet that it would give the 170 a run for its money if not beat it.

Asking 2k as described, I live in the Dallas area and would be willing to deliver it within a 50 mile radius.

Please PM me with any questions.

Re: Polaris 170 clone

ooohhh buddy, I'm tempted. Dallas is about a 4 hour drive from me. do you have any other pictures? And..I really have no idea what your talking abotu when you say clone. Is it a Polaris?

Also...my son is 12 yrs old. how long do you think it'd be before he outgrew it if I bought it?

If after doing some research to be sure the price is a good price, consider me very interested for my 12 yr old so please let me know.

Re: Polaris 170 clone

Is this one of those Chinese units??? Sorta like a Razor Replica?

And...it's 2 wheel drive right? That's kind of a turn off for me but still checking it out.

Re: Polaris 170 clone

This is one of those Chinese units but hey, so is the Polaris 170. The only noticeable difference between the two is the body style, the Polaris has 20 cc’s more and costs about 3k more too. The frame, a-arms, tires, roll cage, shocks, steering gear box, controls and seats are all the same. Some people have speculated that they originated from the same factory as the 170 but no one knows for sure.

Yes this is a strait axel 2 wheel drive unit and again, so is the 170 but I would not rush to dismiss it because of this. With the modifications I have done this unit has been able to follow our full sided RZRs pretty much anywhere with the exception of deep mud. I am unaware of any four wheel drive models out there without jumping up on engine size and price. My son that outgrew this is 13 so depending on your sons build he might be growing out of it sooner than later.

Don’t have any current photos of it and it currently has the rear body off so I could easily replace the motor mounts and rebuild the top end (the foam air filter got torn somehow and allowed to engine to breath a good amount of dust) and replace the carb. Haven’t put it all back together because I am waiting on some new jets that I should hopefully have by the end of the week but here are some sellers photos of these https://www.extrememotorsales.com/Ra..._Youth_UTV.htm .

Re: Polaris 170 clone

Man I hate to say it but that's kind of a let down. Your initial ad seems to indicate that the thing is ready to ride with a list of upgrades allready done to it, that are all working fine. "I routinely go thru these machines and the one that is being sold has a brand new carb, cylinder, piston, rings and three new engine mounts."
Then you finish out with Don’t have any current photos of it and it currently has the rear body off so I could easily replace the motor mounts and rebuild the top end (the foam air filter got torn somehow and allowed to engine to breath a good amount of dust) and replace the carb.

Thanks but I think I'll pass for now. Maybe when you get it back together and can send some pics and maybe a video of it running or something.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I read some of your old posts about this unit from the time you bought it and from what I can tell your mechanical skills are not really at question here. You certainly seem to know what your'e doing. It just seems like you've had a lot of trouble with the machine and have riden it pretty hard. I don't want to buy something that's been abused and modified to the point that it's no longer fixable and reliable.

I understand and why I'm being honest about it. It runs right now but I'm not happy with its performance. Instead of trying to screw someone over I would rather get it to my standards and let the buyer enjoy the ride. All it needs at this point is a larger jet and it will be up to snuff, it's been ordered and should be here soon. As for the body panels, it will only take me an hour to slap it all together once I'm happy with it.

I do not feel its abused in any way (I can't say that about my RZR 4 though lol), but stock these things have very little clearance and would get stuck because lack of low end every 50 feet or so. What has been done to it only made it capable of what it's supposed to be able to do.

I'll have fresh picks and a video of it running up this weekend for you.

Re: Polaris 170 clone

My Kids Pitster double X broke the rear swing arm. I called Pitster and talked to Jeff in Parts. All went very well! He always makes me feel well taken care of.
My new beefed up rear swing arm is on it's way, I received a good deal. Fast service.
THANK YOU!!!

Re: Polaris 170 clone

Here we go as promised. These are photos of the machine taken today followed up by a video of it running. I wish I had a steep hill around here to show you the torque it has now. We take these to Red River in Munster and River Run all the time and it can climb damn near anything there,

This is my 11 year old son standing by it and he is 4' 10".

And here is the video.

Re: Polaris 170 clone

Good job, what a difference. I remember the first time taking those things out when they were bone stock. We need to set up a race between the clone and a rzr170. I think you have them covered easily.
