The motor has been approved by CARB for a 4 seater. I bet it is released soon

Re: 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 Specs and Information

Now I'm not saying I wouldn't own one if given the chance, just that I think all ,I mean all, polaris, can am, arctic cat, yamaha could do without all the add on stuff. Sure make it available as an option for those that really want all the bolt on widgets but let us buy the bare bones models with out all that. Hell I don't even need brake and taillights.

Re: 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 Specs and Information

Really like the horsepower! Really don't like the price! Do like the try at a better air intake (time will tell) Bigger tires and wheels, same tiny tooth-pick axles! Little blue lights and fancy shifter?? How about higher quality BEARINGS and maybe some LARGER AXLES!! Those that are new to these machines might be suckered in to thinking these are cool, but those of us that already own one knows where Polaris should really make the upgrades!!! AGAIN, Polaris advertises it being in DEEP mud and water, and at full throttle with the tires in the air..... but take it in for warranty for bent axles or water ingestion and they say you shouldn't be in water /mud above the floor and you shouldn't be at full throttle when in the air!! Another shot at trying to make things LOOK good instead of putting thought and QUALITY in the machine!! I'll keep my RZR XP 900 and replace all the cheap parts until I have a machine that Polaris should have built!!

yep, I was thinking the same. I figured for what a jagged x was going for, the new 1000 would just be more.
Yes, the price while more than anyone would "like" to spend doesn't seem as bad as I personally expected. I figured it would be at least as expensive as the JaggedX version.

But IF the seats are ok, that saves $1K. How many people spend $1K-$1.5K on 14" tires/rims? $500 on doors? IF the cage isn't made of muffler pipe, there is possibly a $1.5K-$2K savings there. So, there's a potential savings of $5K over what a lot of people do with the "old" rzr, which makes the price seem pretty reasonable. Plus, what's it cost to make a 900 have 107 hp with a factory warranty? (although the value of that is somewhat questionable).

We'd all probably love to go back to the $13K I paid for my S back in 2008...but for 2013, and where this has evolved, the $20K may be a bargain for what all you get. And of course, I could be all wet, but this is the start of my argument of logic with which I will approach the family CFO as I beg, cry, and whine about why I "need" this new toy...

Re: 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 Specs and Information

Looks sweet, I'd like to see one in person to tell how much 'bulkier' it is than my 900. Doesn't the Maverick have a better power-to-weight ratio still? This 1000 is almost 200lbs heavier than the 900. Interior is nice, seats look great, still the silly placement of the speedometer. For this price, 2.0 shocks up front and no beadlocks compared to the Maverick. I'm certain the Maverick doesn't compare in the handling department tho.

For $5k more than I paid for my leftover '12 XP, I'll pay off the XP and enjoy it until the 1000's are severely discounted. I felt sick spending this much on something to beat on, $20k? Man it's only going to go up from here!

Re: 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 Specs and Information

Pretty sweet machine I'd say .... pretty heavy and wide but that is what it is
I noticed in the Polaris Video and spec's there is a reference to a PVT transmission ... what does the P define vs CVT? Also what is different with the all new ProStar 1000 vs. the earlier ProStar? 900 ... other than size?

I think it looks awesome! I was hoping they would also release a 60" 900xp, and discontinue the dinosaur RZR 800

Re: 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 Specs and Information

Nice job Polaris !!!

Lots of upgrades and the $20k is very reasonable considering what most have already put into their 800 or XP900 to do much less. Don't mind the extra weight either if the chassis is as good as it appears to be.

Not only listening but apparently watching. I would never put myself out there to ask for a cell phone enclosure in a SxS but apparently you felt sorry for me when noticed I had my phone in a sandwich bag the last couple years LOL. Ironically I just purchased a Lifeproof case this afternoon and put it in the sink to do the water leak test just before watching the release video .... could have potentially saved me the $130 case purchase so it does have value LOL

Great videos and marketing too .... well done all around with this release!

I was hoping for a upgraded 800 50"r. This is a let down.
