Anyone see or drive a Rzr SW?

I'm looking for a RZR for my Sheriff's Office. Has anyone seen or driven the Govt model?

Re: Anyone see or drive a Rzr SW?

I have never seen one at the local reserve unit, and I think Nat Guard just uses the ranger 800 crew in OD or tan. And you don't usually see them either. we had lots on mil equipment passing through the ranch on trains back during Iraq, and ocasionally now with afganistan, basically whole units from FtHood. Seen everything but a Polaris vehicle
We have 6 rangers ,crews and single cabs, and a RZR4 800. We use them instead of trucks on our ranch, 7 days a week year round, the guys like working out of then, we drive the crap out of the in some nasty terrain, the local SO has 8 Polaris 800 atvs, and a couple of 500 crews. All civilian. I don't think your SO will ever put a vehicle through what we go through, I know the local SO doesn't, they even come here to train their guys on off road driving. Just get the civilian units, and save some tax dollars, the Gov military types are close to 30grand each, twice the civilian price. There isn't enough difference to warrant the extra price

I have seen a couple of the defense models over in Afghanistan. Pretty cool looking, didn't even know they existed.

Re: Anyone see or drive a Rzr SW?

The build on the SW models exceed what civilians can buy. Is it worth the extra $$. Yes.

I have one here at home too.

Re: Anyone see or drive a Rzr SW?

I work on the ones we have out here. It's basically a RZR-S with bumpers, lights, and a few other things. Now we're getting XP900's that are all built up but I've only seen one out here so far.

Re: Anyone see or drive a Rzr SW?

I'm a newbie on here because I recently purchased a 2011 SW. From what I have put together, the sw's were made for a gov contract and there was a slight overrun. The models that were left were released to the dealerships and eventually sold to the public. When they hit the dealers had a hard time selling them and many set for a long time before selling. Because the demand was very low at that time Polaris didn't make any more desert tan sw units for the civilian market and opened up another market unit for the defense side. I'm curious to know if they are built to a closer tolerance than the civ units or if they were the same units with just light, wheel and color change. I have searched every place on the o'l interweb I can find about these and they are a very elusive machine. I would like to know how many were produced and sold to the civ. market.

Re: Anyone see or drive a Rzr SW?

Last year there were some guys riding them at the Taylor Park Rally. 2 and 4 seaters as well as quads. Neat rugged looking but the web seats could use some padding. Check out the 2015 TP rally photos.
