Something slightly different from the French.
It's a Secma Fun Quad 340, yup that's 340 whole cubic centimetres of raw power, and you can find it and their other models here SECMA, construction automobile, fun tech, fun quad, fun extrem, fun buggy, fun elec, fun runner, fun tech spéciaux and maybe have a bit of a laugh if you'd like.
![]() I know it's hardly a RZR, more like a 2WD quad with seats, but then that's it's USP, it's a quad with seats, and yes before you guys ask, it is road-legal in Europe. |

Re: Something slightly different from the French.
Forgot to add, over this side of the pond it's only about a third of the cost of a RZR.

Re: Something slightly different from the French.
Well a standard RZR over this side will set you back 20,450 US$ so this is about $7000 over this side.
Actually had a go in one today and it's surprisingly good fun. It'll only do about 40-45 mph but it's much smaller. Think the difference between the big Arctic Cat and the RZR, and then chop that off the RZR to get the Secma. It means everything seems faster. Oh and it'll do 60 miles to the gallon. Re: Something slightly different from the French.
I'm confused now - that's obviously a qPod, and though I noticed Secma a while back, I presumed they were just rebranded. Going to the UK site for Secma now - which clearly says they're an outlet for the French (?!) buggies - I get next to nothing, but clicking on the logo takes me to qpod.co.uk (looks like being much more useful) - but promptly auto-redirects me back to the same useless Secma website. I also thought the qPods were a British thing with Noel Edmunds money, or were they always French all along?
Just noticed if you wait long enough on the useless Secma UK homepage, you get to see a sort of LWB "6 wheeler" with tracks on! Secma UK - Home of the Fun Vehicle Range But enough wittering on - I do wonder if a qPod would have suited me better for what I get up to.

Re: Something slightly different from the French.
It's a Secma, but Noel rebranded it for a while, but has since gone out of business. Apparently there's been a bit of arguing going on, hence the funniness with the website.
The 6x4 is fun though, but slow. |

Re: Something slightly different from the French.
Perhaps getting off topic, but I had a good look on the Secma website, and came across the Secma F-16.
Now strictly a tarmac "buggy" or more a sportscar with 105hp, the previous model with more goofy dated bodywork and a 500cc motor is otherwise pretty much identical (I'm told by the distribuitor over here): http://www.caradisiac.com/media/imag...em_500_big.jpg The F16 looks like fun - though I fear they will ask too much for it (I've heard 17,000 euros which is pretty expensive at our current exchange rate - maybe that's more reasonable over there) but for the same price there are some good kitcar alternatives. I think it would work better with a little offroad capability thown in for sand and hardpack - something like a tiny Lancia Stratos which was a sportscar but also a successfull rally car - and on road it could have a great soft ride... it's never going to be a trackday monster with 105hp even with it's low weight - but could make a great comfortable fun little play thing as road car. The fact that it's tiny is a big draw to me purely for hilarity factor... it's 1m shorter than an Elise and only around 10" longer than a Smart car!
