Viper Elite and Max

Whats is the difference between the two? Are the winches different or just added accessories? I am looking for a 4000 or 4500lb winch and dont know on which one to get. Is a rzr mount needed or the universal mount will work? Would also like synthetic rope and does it come with a roller fairlead with the rope or the aluminum fairlead? And last question do yall have any specials or deals going on right now for the winches? Sry for all the questions!

Re: Viper Elite and Max

If they don't answer your questions here right away, give them a call. They have good customer service.
I have had a Max and and Elite. The Elite was quieter and the contactor was easier to wire up. The Elite also has a wireless remote.
The fairlead for synthetic rope is aluminum. Their RZR kit comes with the mounts you will need.

Re: Viper Elite and Max

So there is nothing different with the winch itself? its just mainly accessories? I think the max would be all i need, im assumming the rzr kit comes with mount and i can add the synthetic rope extra?

Re: Viper Elite and Max

I think the winches are different too... the Elite is much quieter than the Max.

Re: Viper Elite and Max

The Viper Elite is higher quality, water proof and much better features:
Synthetic rope, non-elastic
Wireless remote
Alu fairlead
I would recommend to go for Elite and you never have any problems.
I have made my own mount for the SE model, so I can have more meters of rope.

Re: Viper Elite and Max

I've got the Elite EX4000 and have zero complaints. Mounting system worked great, and having a remote rocks. I shortened the stock line to 40' (less chance of overwrapping the drum) and carry a 25' extension rope for those times I need it.

Has yours been working out okay?

I have one showing up Friday..

Moto Alliance was very easy to communicate with(e-mail), even over the past weekend.

Re: Viper Elite and Max

used it in South Dakota when I needed a winch on the 5 rated Kong trail and it drug me up/around a ledge without issue...the wired switch is 'backwards' per my thinking tho, 'up' should be 'out'...I've remounted mine, but the words are now upsidedown...lol

Have NOT yet needed it in the mud...silly Pitbulls refuse to get stuck...

Re: Viper Elite and Max

Glad to hear it worked when you needed it. I'll have to look up the Kong trail. Sounds interesting..

I just finished installing mine. What a PITA. No fault of Moto Alliance, it's just the tight spots that you need to work in because of the RZR's design. Regardless, it's workin.

I put the switch on the column..

Cut out the removable plastic, just cause..

As long as it can right the machine when I dump it on it's side, I'll be happy.

(now it's time for alignment, can you tell? )

My RZR was on it's side when it was one week old...two guys, grab the cage, and it righted easily.

STUCK is when you'll need it, or for a "controlled" recovery, not simply flopped
