Looking for any advice, I am from Minnesota and looking at possibly making a trip to little Sahara for a winter trip, looking at possibly February or March. Is this a bad time to make a trip there? To cold/bad weather? Don’t want to make a trip and have a bad time.

I live 30 miles from there, NW Oklahoma weather can change suddenly example 18 degrees yesterday and windy, today 42 calm. Not many people are at the dunes in February. The wife and I have rode the dunes in the snow and were the only ones there. I guess I'm saying your luck of getting a nice weather riding time during those months is pure luck. The winds in the spring cane be in the 30 to 40 mph range. Mid April to June and late Stepember through Thanksgiving is the best time. A few years ago New Years eve was packed but the temp was in the 80's, this weekend it is suppose to be in the 20's.

We usually go week of Easter. He have had T-shirt weather all the way to Our winter coats. Been in Tornadic storms, and even been snowed on. We pack the cold gear just in case. Its a crap shoot but a great time.

We just got back from there and had a great time. We go in December every year and it can be a range of temperatures for sure. We treat it like snow boarding...just be ready to be cold and be happily surprised if it isn't.

We like it with the dunes empty having the place to ourselves. It's worth the trade-off for warmth.
