$17000 – jumbotron for spectators who don’t have vehicles to go to canyons
$17000 – security
$8000 – dust control caused by number of vehicles in Johnson Valley
$7000 fencing for spectator safety
$136,000 total

10% of spectator sales go towards keeping Johnson Valley open

$25000 – port a potties ( i am in the wrong business)

Spectating: Tickets will be for sale on the lake bed. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children. For those that were at the race last year, this year’s event is very similar from a spectator perspective, except that this year there will be a jumbotron and short course. The jumbotron will have live action from all over the race course as it’s impossible to see the entire race at once. The entrance fee is a donation. However, access to Hammer Town (where the vendor show and the race cars are throughout the week will require a wrist band). Johnson Valley OHV area is open to everyone. The race course and within 150 feet of the race course is closed to the public on race days. The spectator areas are set up to give spectators a chance to see the race at a safe distance from the action. Many of these spectator areas are the same as in prior years where people have enjoyed watching the race. The donation goes towards the cost of BLM, medical personnel, security, electricity and port a johns, and 10% of those costs go towards keeping Johnson Valley open.

Camping: Camping is free. It is dry camping, but there will be water trucks and dump trucks roaming the area that will service your vehicles for a fee. Most of Mean’s Dry Lake Bed will be filled by Hammer Town. The race teams, vendors, and Hammerking HQ will all be on Mean’s Dry Lake. Johnson Valley is an open OHV area, so other than Hammer Town, Campers are able to camp essentially wherever they would like to as long as it’s not within 150′ of the race course. vehicles, camping, etc. View Larger Map
We were there Sunday. It was worth the $20.00 each to get in. Remember it's for all week long as well. Boat load of trailers and SxS's. And yes Porta Pots. Vendor row was pretty good IMO.. We saw the end of the Sitty Built EMC Race. Jeep with only some suspension beat a modified pre runner to the finish line. He made history. Firt winner of that very first race. Seriously thinking of spending a week there next year and maybe even racing the EMC race..
