I survived Borneo

Hey I made it out alive. Trip of a lifetime and I highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they can handle it. Worth all the money and effort and time.

The trip was suppose to be 1500Km it turned out to be over 2100.
Thats about 1300 miles of some ass kicking jungle. I left the US on Nov 29 and returned Dec 23rd.

Seven vehicles did not make it, various problems made them drop out.

The RZR-S made it with only a few problems. LOTS of people did not think the RZR could handle this trip. They think different now.

Here are some photos.

More complete details are here on UTVweekly.com
UTV Weekly Exclusive : UTVWeekly.com

I have a TON of video that I have not had time to work on so stay tuned.

The RZR-S buried in the hold of a ferry. Arriving on Borneo

At the starting line ceremony

Exotic dancer send us off

Driving onto the starting podium, very formal start

On the equator the GPS reads all 0's.

This map shows the basic route. 1300 miles.

Building a bridge, used motorcycle chains make good bridge binding.

Small village gas station

This is what happens when large vehicles try to winch out seriously stuck RZRs

A night Ferry crossing

Jungle Gas station

Representing with a government official

A long house. tradition Dyak native house

Group shot, right after the chicken was sacrificed. I'm serious.

More winching

The RZR didn't need a winch here

Re: I survived Borneo

In some serious jungle

One seriously stuck RZR

Yes I am next to go through

Getting a bit deep

Crossing the Mahop river

This stick nearly took out some vital equipment, cough cough

Setting up camp

What road?

Yea thats the trail dead ahead

The "Don't mess with Orangutans" sign. I laughed hard.

Going up river on an LST

A ripped CV boot, it lasted the rest of the trip this way.

I have no idea where this fender went or what took it.

At the Equatorial Monument near Pontianak

Re: I survived Borneo

Man i bet that was awesome, you have to be proud of the RZR making through all of that, in some of those pictures the front looks like your carriying a a ton of weight in mud, the tires are almost touching the fenders.

Re: I survived Borneo

At one point the belt blew and I had to be towed a few miles to town.
We went to a car wash and spent 3 hours trying to remove mud so we could get to the belt cover bolts. What a PIA.

We estimated about 300lbs was jammed in every crack.

I fixed some of the images.

Re: I survived Borneo

The RZR is suppose to be loaded on the boat heading home tommorow.
It will take a month.

Just in time to start getting it ready for the next trip.
