Re: Amp and speaker hook up

was it hard to mount did it need any extra hardware? also how do u go about wiring it to the battery, does it still run when your bike is shutoff meaning it would drain the battery im not very good in electrical haha

Re: Amp and speaker hook up

You can also mount it under the dash against the "firewall". I installed two of those amps recently, and both turned out very clean.

You will need to run your power wire directly to the battery, and run the remote wire either to a switch or the key.

Re: Amp and speaker hook up

I added afuse block wired directly to the battery so I could add additional stuff. Switched from that with additional battery and battery isolator so I can run my stereo all I want without worrying about not being able to start.

Re: Amp and speaker hook up

i bought the 2 speaker and amp setup. I mounted the speakers in 6'' pvc pipe endcaps, cut out the end that was not open so i could have a big enough lip to mount the speakers in. Sealed the back of the speakers with plexiglass. bought a 2nd battery and only hooked the amp/speakers to it and nothing else. (so far). it is a wheelchair gel style battery>went on a ride sunday, a lil over 8 hrs and had the speakers on the whole time, no problems< just got to put the trickle charger on her when you get home. i wired the 2nd battery to a switch so i could turn it off and on as needed. my amp is under my hood, ran wires thru firewall to 2nd battery. combined the wires in that plastic heat shield stuff and tucked them away. the speakers are mounted in the corners of the back roll bar which put the speakers at the left side of the drivers head and the right side of the passengers head.. anyways, this is just my home made project that surprisingly works very well!!

Re: Amp and speaker hook up

I have a similar amp. I took a piece of black aluminum and made a tray above my head at the front of the cage and the amp sits on top. The volume control, the ipod jack and a power switch (I added) are all mounted in it. It gets plenty of air and stays dry since its right under the roof. Hope this helps.

Re: Amp and speaker hook up

Ive got the 4 channel and 8" bazookas mounted on the rear cage. It sounds pretty effin cool but I am disappointed in the amp. It will never produce the output it claims. It was cheap so I guess I get what I pay for. It makes plenty of noise to tick off the neighbors though. lol!!!

Good deal I was wondering what would be better the 6.5" or the 8" speakers. I guess the 8" bigger is better right? lol

Re: Amp and speaker hook up

Hi Guys

Sorry to jump in on this but am desperately needing help

Just bought a Pyle PLMRMP3A kit includes speakers etc. Also got the Pyle PLCD36MRW head unit.

Head unit and speakers work ok but when I turn the volume up to 40 it switches itself off.

Then I connected the amp but when I connect the blue wire from thee amp to the blue wire from the head unit then the head unit switches off and comes back on, pulsating (flashing off and on). When I disconnect the blue wires the head unit plays but the amp is not on.

I have tried the blue wire connected to a switch and the live battery terminal and the amp still doesn't work.

Apart from taking a hammer to it can anybody help me, been at this for over a week.
