Re: Who has a stereo?

I did mine for less than $200. I bought a new sony 200W marine CD player ($100), marine full encloser housing ($40), and 2 100W 8" Kenwood wakeboard tower speakers $(50).

I did get lucky on the prices though since they were all bought on ebay with no reserve auctions.

The marine housing is great because you can just mount it right under the dash in the center. I can hose it down with a pressure washer and not have to worry about it at all!

As for the speakers. All wakeboard style speakers come with clamps that will go directly onto the roll bar. Make sure to by the correct clamps when you order them! They are not all the same size.

Over all it is crystal clear even while at full throtle. The cd player does not even skip unless I'm flying through a creek bed or something.

I will try to post pics if I get a chance

This is ours.
500watt 2ch amp under the dash, volume knob on the dash, our No Radio needed ipod input by the shifter, 2 6x9's in molded fiberglass pods in the upper kick panels. This whole system costs $499

Any plans on offering a subwoofer? Can't beat your price for the system.

Thanks, your system came out nice. I like the angled iPod mount. isn't glass fun

yes, we're working on a bolt-in sub box where you won't have to cut through the firewall/floorpan and should be avaliable by the start of the season.

Re: Who has a stereo?

Here are some pics of my system. Like I said earlier, I bought the whole setup for less than $200. The best part is that its loud enough that it hurts if I turn it up too loud and it can be fully submerged.

I also added a pics of my Rhino bedliner that I just finished installing. I was tired of the plastic bed and cab getting all discolored from being used. Cost less than 50 bucks for the do it yourself kit from Autozone. Made by DupliColor.

Re: Who has a stereo?

myself and a friend installed overhead and kick panel system into a rhino
we never were able to enjoy the stereo system. it just wasn't noticeable over the road noise and exhaust. it was great while just parked though. If i was ever going to do it again i would have an i-pod into pci race radio head set. then you wouldn't even have to worry about a deck, just the radio volume controls.

Re: Who has a stereo?

A radio doesn't really have enough power to drive speakers and make it 'loud' enough to hear while driving fast. Our kits put out plenty of power and volume. infact, you can clearly hear/feel the music while wearing headsets. We us Rugged in car comm's and with our systems you can totally hear it 100%. Plus, you get to listen to it while hanging out at the hill or by the fire.

Re: Who has a stereo?

I do not have an amp and I can hear my speakers great even while at full throttle. I can't even turn mine up 3/4 volume otherwise it hurts my ears. You just have to make sure you have a descent cd player. Mine is a 200w max power which is plenty to power both my speakers. Now if you want some loud thump then you will need the amp. But if you are just looking for some tunes a 200w cd player will do it.

Re: Who has a stereo?

The Mammoth stereo is fantastic.
The speakers mount in close proximity to your ears so it sounds great even when riding.

And unlike 500 Watt systems it will not bankrupt your battery.
I can ride all day long using the stereo and not have any concerns
about the battery draining.

Its waterproof and super easy to install.

Re: Who has a stereo?

We also offer a 200 watt amp for budget minded systems. Both configurations have preformed very well and haven't had any issues in the RZR. You obviouslly are not familiar with audio but those ratings are Peak, not RMS and don't actually 500 watts. They're not 35w lights consuming 35watts. Plus, they're driving a pair of 6x9's, not a pair of 15" woofers so the amp hour draw is WAY less then a woofer based SPL system.

Your kit uses 2 20watt (thats peak) amps. So, your putting out about 8-10watts RMS then. Thats less then half of a typical aftermarket car cd stereo player.....
