Re: Who has a stereo?

I have this set up RZR Amp & Speakers - a photoset on Flickr

I don't need no stereo I just plug in my Ipod and jam and I only paid $105.67 plus shipping for everything except the on/off switch I bought at Advance Auto.I rode this past Saturday and the water came in half way up to the speakers many times with no problems since they are waterproof and so is the Amp.I just need to spray the speakers black.

Re: Who has a stereo?

Scuba Steves marine outlet site. 50 watt 2 chanel waterproof amp, waterproof volume knob and i-pod/mp3 jack with rubber cover plug and double male jump wire(i-pod to jack) $77.75 plus shiping they have lots of waterproof goodies. The volume knob plugs in to the amp. The sub has ben sitting colecting dust for the last 8 years. So I thought I would test its durability.I screwed and j-b welded it to a piece of black wear plastic, then put 3 lock-n-ride hold downs and water proof power/+ speaker plug.Sub has amp biult in and only requires + left and right speaker conection.7 seconds to pull the sub out. With out the sub it sounds a little tinny due to little overhead speakers.Polaris overhead bag label read (2 lb max)so I went small, should have gone to 6 inch speaker.Bag is still usable.I cut a piece of black wear plastic insert with speaker holes and j-b welded to inside of bag.Cut speaker holes in fabric after glue dried and rivited speakers in.It is plenty loud over exaust with or with out amp .I pod mount was cell phone hugger that I modified and gps is a Ram mount.Amp pulls power off wench selinoid.I put the jack to low and my passeger broke it off whith his knee last weekend at iron dog rase. It was -20 below and plastic is quite brittle at -20 below,so you'll have that . A new jack was $12.00

Re: Who has a stereo?

i have a friend that went on ebay and bought all marine speakers (kenwood) with a walmart cd radio ( mp3) and built a speaker box in roll cage, sounds loud and clear. spent less than $350. Im going to build something similar. I will spend about $500 on 400 watts of loud clear sound..... don't have to spend a lot of money to have great woods buggy sound!!!!!!! rock on!!!!!!!!!!!! will have pics later in future..

Re: Who has a stereo?

josh me and my wife use portable mp3 with head sets. we have an adaptor so you can use two at the same time. also have a little power booster and some small speakers for when were sitting. you have to go radio shack and buy a few head sets and try them. keep the louadest head set and return the others. radio shack has the power booster. not the best way to have tunes and if you dont get ear buds you cant use a helmet. the head gear type are the easiest. so we strap are helmets to the cargo area when we want tunes. the inside of my rzr gets vary muddy. $400 to $600 is alot of money and i dont think any system will hold up. and if it will i would hate to try and keep it clean. that would turn into a piss me off for me.

Re: Who has a stereo?

I wonder if the lock and ride cargo box would work for a speaker enclosure? You could even mount the amp in there. Has anyone looked into this? I will have to take a look at mine when I get home.

Re: Who has a stereo?

It is a stock roll cage and I put speakers in overhead bag cause it seems to stay the clean up there.
