stereo enclosure

OK guys I need your input. I'm going to kind of use wackers stereo box but not mount it to the roof. So my question is should I put a back panel on the enclosure or leave it open. It will be below my roof a couple inches. Hopefully you guys have good input for me.

Im building one right now to mount to cage and would not build one without back panel. It will take a lot away from the output without it being somewhat sealed up.

I didn't put a back on my enclosure, it simple uses the roof as the back of te enclosure with some good foam weatherstripping to make the seal between the roof and enclosure.
