I have my HID kit for the front headlights connected to the factory plugs - no relay, am I ok. also have a Optima yellow top battery - the directions said to use 70 amp battery or a relay. i din't know anything about relay's so went with the battery is this going to be ok.

Re: HID kit
Most of the kits have you change a fuse (headlight 15 to 20 or similar). Check the directions and see if it recommendeds one or not. Otherwise you are probably alright.

Re: HID kit
O.K. so it's 7.6 amps while operating but the original draw during start up will be what takes the weak link down before its time.
I asked the seller for max draw and he responded with I'll send a relay for the same price.
Without knowing the max draw, my guess is it's a good idea to use one.

Re: HID kit
Found this, it'll help you out.
86 will come from the head light switch or the positive lead at your headlight.
87 will come from the battery (fused of course).
85 is ground, you can get it from the chassis.
30 will go to power your HID light system
Check the size of the wire being used on the HID system and go a size larger. EX. If they are using 14 gauge, use 12 or even 10 gauge from the battery to your relay (lower the number, thicker the wire).
